Dodge truck steering problems

Recommended Posts

Balljoints and steering parts are a known issue on these trucks. The trackbar bushings are pretty easy to replace especially if you have a blow torch and are only $20. That fixed about 90% of my steering wander & issues. I am going to do the steering box brace as well though.

As for buying a Ford, no thanks. I did just have to do $3000 worth of injectors in my Dodge but my buddy just did $5000 worth of work to replace the top half of his 6.0L Ford. I'll take a Dodge Cummins with a stick shift trans over any other diesel any day.

I had a power wagon and it had the DW, I honestly don't think there is a fix, there might be a temporary fix but from everything I've seen and researched if your truck has it, it will more than likely always have it no matter how much $ you spend trying to fix it. Although I've seen my bosses '06 stock cummins 4x4 with 250k miles and hasn't had one problem, go figure. I loved my power wagon and hated selling it but I felt it was unsafe and was afraid to even let my wife drive it fearing she may not be able to control it, so it had to let it go:( I will never buy another Dodge pick up again.

The 6.0 is junk also. I have a 7.3, best diesel ever built. Never said dodge had a pos engine, the entire rest of the truck is garbage, the whole thing, all of it, junk. I cant afford a new truck but, the new chevy diesel is probably the best overall truck out there now.

Exactly what I have. 2006 and never had an issue with it except for the speedometer.
