vincefmx Report post Posted April 10, 2012 Not looking for scouting information, would just like to know if any of you have had this tag and if so, how was your hunt and the quality of animals? I drew this tag as my third choice and have always wanted to hunt it, plan on doing a good amount of scouting and am looking forward to only 74 other tag holders being in the unit, unlike my unit 1 bull tag last year with what seemed like a hunter behind every tree. I had that tag just a couple of years ago and it was one of the more exciting rut hunts I've been on. Called in 14 different bulls the first 2 days...but all of them were under 320. The area I was hunting had a high bull to cow ratio so getting them in was fairly easy. The bull I ended up taking the 4th day had 23 cows with him and was in the same area, needless to say I shot him after about a 5 hour spot and stalk due to all the bulls in the area keeping him close to his ladies. vincefmx Report post Posted April 11, 2012 Honest to god guys! 1st choice was unit 10 rut tag, 2nd choice unit 1 rut, 3rd choice 3B rut! i drew a unit 1 tag last year and was expecting a bonus point this year...thus the ridiculous hunt choices. i got tag # 61. Yes.....Solo Applicant In 2011 there were 535 1st and 2nd choice applicants for those 75 tags. Those aren't terrible odds for a 3rd choice they're impossable. Over the years I've heard of some weird things happening in the draws, this might just be another one I can't understand so I choose to believe (right or wrong) you put it as your 2nd choice. Last year there were 535 applicants in 1st and 2nd choice for 75 tags. Unless this year 455 less people put in for that tag, there were NO 3B rut archery tags left after 1st and second pass. Thus the only way you could have drawn it is if you got your hunt codes mixed around and put it as 2nd choice. You don't have a slim chance, or even a snowballs chance in heck, you have NO chance of drawing that tag on 3rd choice. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
