Non-Typical Solutions Report post Posted April 9, 2012 What are the recommendations on fletching? My son is 14, shooting the mission craze, pulling 55lb. right now and all he has shot is field tips. Wondering about length, helical or not......using a whisker biscuit rest. Have not yet decided on what broadhead to use yet and I realize that is important in this decision with regards to fletching. Just looking for some ideas and direction.
tommat Report post Posted April 9, 2012 I have used the biscuit for years and use the blazer vanes. They are much thicker than most and never get all wrinkly from the biscuit. They fly great. Shorter than most vanes but they are also taller.
Redman Report post Posted April 9, 2012 my son shoots a very similar setup, and has good luck with 2 inch blazers and with right helico. we flecth them with the AZ EZ Pro Mini. The 2 inch blazers hold up to the whisker biscuit very well.
Non-Typical Solutions Report post Posted April 9, 2012 Thanks for the comments. What does one fletching give me that the other doesn't? I don't understand enough about the dynamics to know what does what??
JLW Report post Posted April 10, 2012 I love the durability of the blazers! I don't shoot a biscuit but have a few arrows that are on their 3rd season with the blazers and only 1 out of the few I have from that set is warped. You'll crack the arrow before wearing out the blazer. My wife shoots the same out of her crapture rest. lol! So far so good. James
