tscott Report post Posted April 6, 2012 Travis, please post this on the forum: I’m in need of volunteer labor to assist with repairs to wildlife water catchment number 442 located in GMU 44A south of the Harcuvar Mountains. Initial work has already been conducted with the assistance from local sportsmen to identify a failure in the feedline supplying the catchment with runoff water. We will be replacing the feedline, resurfacing the concrete apron and making improvements to the drinker to prevent dead bees from fouling the water. As many of you may know, the Department has recommended a reduction in deer permits for GMU’s 42, 43 & 44 for the 2012 season. Assisting with constructing or repairing habitat improvement project such as this is one way concerned sportsman can be actively involved to improve resources and protect wildlife populations for the future. Volunteer labor, equipment and expertise are so important to the volume of projects that can be completed each year. If it wasn’t for the support of sportsman there are projects on the ground that would otherwise still be on someone’s To-do list. Date and Time: April 28 & 29 2012 We should have very little to do on the 29th. Camping out or staying the night is not required, but dinner will be supplied by Scott Brothers. Plan on being at work site by 9 AM Directions to work site: (See attached map) Exit US 60 at mile post 71 on gravel dirt road north from highway. Mile post 71 is approximately half way between Aguila and Wenden. Follow road(s) north to large power lines and cattle tank; Miller Reservoir. Once at power lines head west through gate. After gate head approximately 200-300 yards and turn north on two track road toward Happy Camp Well. At Happy Camp Well go around north side and take two track road north to catchment. High clearance two wheel drive vehicles required and they will get a little decorative pin stripping on the way, but it’s not too bad.
