This is very disturbing to me. Last Friday, I actually sat down with a Director of the Arizona Wilderness Society in order to reach aggreement on language for the Sonoran Desert National Monument. There was no mention of this pending proposal. I kind of think that I was sitting across a teble with a gun pointed at my belly.

Anyone who will send me their e-mail address I will be glad to send you a PDF copy ( 7.9 MB file) of this proposal.

I like what Nick is saying about the Sportsman's Alliance.

Next week Mohave County Supervisor Gary Watson and I are meeting Congressman Gosar here in Kingman to discuss this matter. I understand it is going viral in southern Utah, as it should be.

As more and more people hear about it, they should start writing to all our federal legislators, the Governor and our state legislators and get them on board with opposing this.

Read the proposal then read between the lines. How man times do you see the words wolves, black bears, Grizzly bears, mountain lions and even jaguars mentioned?

Come on you can surely figure it out.

They want to take 1.7 MILLION acres of public lands and turn it into a defacto wilderness complete with an unlimited amount of lions, bears, wolves, jaguars etc.

You guys on hear that was able to catch the TV news people's attention on HB-2072 ought to be beating down their doors and get this brought to everyone's attention.

Sportsmen in Nevada, New Mexico and Utah got to get after it too!

This isn't just an Arizona issue, its a WESTERN issue.

Pull together guys and get this thing stopped in its tracks!

I can easily see this President moving this forward just based on his utter disdain for the state of AZ and its people alone.

Im going to have to read thru the doc a couple more times. But Ill be sending all my elected reps an email today and giving them a call on Monday.

This is real--make no mistake. If it happens it will happen fast so none of us know what hit us. I loved hunting the areas around the Agua Fria and i still do but i can't walk my 77 year old Dad in there because he can't walk that far. This is the real problem i see--most of us are strong and healthy and can walk into a Monument area and hunt and then pack what we kill out but then there are all of the other folks who have handicaps and just can't go into that type of hunting area..this is discrimination at the highest level and that is where you can shut part of this down. You do not have to hunt to be discriminated against--there are many roads on the Bab to travel but once this kicks in they will be closed and you will only be able to travel on one or two--not good.

Another thing i think will help with this is the loss of income to the two vacationing spots on the Bab--Jacob Lake Lodge and Kaibab Lodge--you can not get a room there in the summer time and during the archery deer season or any deer season those places are booked months in advance--this is another sticking point we all can voice our opinions on. Then there are the ranchers who have used that land for centuries--ranchers are not the enemy of hunters and they have every right to work the land as long as they use good judgment while doing so and most of them ranchers i know are the best stewards of the land they use. Take this away and we will see another part of our Arizona history go down the tubes...many bad thing can happen and i did not once mention hunting--

Inform all people that they will take away this resource form all of them and maybe they will get worked up enough to cry foul along with all of us. This is another reason to get ALL of us involved in ALL issues so we can fight it hard.

BPJ and Don Martin have done a lot for our sport and i believe them when they say this is real--time to work together folks!

Sorry but sportsmen will never rally together on this subject. Too many sportsmen agree with national monument designation and loss of traveled roads etc. look how many sportsmen and hunters on this site alone agree with wolf reintroduction. It is sickening how many wolf sympathizers are on this site.

Take away some tags and its a whole new ball game.

Great points Terry. I didn't even think about what it would do to the lodges.

Just spoke with Melissa Simpson---Safari Club Director of the Wash. D.C. office. She is on top of this and is going to talk with Larry Voyles from AZGFD. Melissa has a copy of the proposal and was a pleasure to deal with on the phone. She is going to see where we need to go from here, whether a letter campaign or what. She is going to get back in touch with me on this..........Allen Taylor............

U.S Sportsmen's Alliance.

This morning I spoke with Jeremy Rine, Assoc. Director of State Services. He had limited information regarding this proposal. He became interested very quickly as we spoke. I provided him with Don Martin's email add. so that USSA could request a copy. I offered financial support within the means of YVRGC. I'm sure that Jeremy will be bumping this up to the national level.

Next contact. Secretary Salazar.

Put the heat on guys and gals. There is room for another grave alongside HB 2072. It's nearly time to resurect Prop. 109.
