Non-Typical Solutions Report post Posted April 3, 2012 One of our favorite roads to drive, still can't get in. Road between Buffalo Crossing and Big Lake, still pretty hard to swallow. Fishing Nelson early morning draggin flies, no luck at all but fun to get on the lake. Trip to Terry flat. Found this laying in the bar ditch three miles in on Big Lake road. Called G&F and they sent out their specialists. Had a great visit. Looked like a dump job to me.

Non-Typical Solutions Report post Posted April 3, 2012 Somebody staking claim to a trick tank. Carcass with a couple of broadheads buried in the backbone. Interesting find. Hiking through some of the burn has a graveyard eerie to it. I hike my old rearend off only to find these tracks cutting through the burn. Frustrating Mulie deer out and about 1:00 middle of the day. Fountain of youth right here in beautiful AZ.

Non-Typical Solutions Report post Posted April 3, 2012 One of the areas we hiked just north/west of Buffalo Crossing, we dove off to get to the river, we bumped into one tom turkey. Other than that for all the road driving and hiking we did, no turkey. We did see turkey tracks in the snow several times hiking. I am really disappointed we don't get to do the youth over the counter turkey tag this year, my son got hooked big time last year. Dang it......

Snapshot Report post Posted April 13, 2012 Nice pics. I have not been up to look at the damage in unit 27 since I got back from Montana, but it is a real shame to see what happened because of 2 boneheads not extinguishing their campfire. Is there any green vegetation popping up through the ash?
Non-Typical Solutions Report post Posted April 13, 2012 Where they reseeded or dropped all that straw, whatever that is, it came up real good last fall, and is coming back again. Any place you see small aspen trying to grow they have been nibbled off by the elk and deer. It is a tough pill to swallow, but it is still a great unit. I am really bummed about the turkey situation there, I was looking forward to another youth turkey hunt this year.
200"mulie Report post Posted April 13, 2012 Sounds like a fun vacation, it is really to bad that the alpine area burnt up. That is my favorite place in the whole state. I was actually up there right before it went up in flames. On a turkey hunt trying to help my buddy. All we really talked about was how dry everything was. And why are there no fire restrictions like New Mexico had.
