Montana Black and Gold is my vote. I've had the same sight for 8 yrs, never had it loosen up on me, and it has a lifetime warranty.

I used to work at an archery shop and we recieved lots of complaints about the Trophy Ridge sights loosening up. Hopefully they have fixed that problem.

That sight you posted looks pretty tempting though!!!

Is the L.E.D. legal in AZ, the only reason I ask is I heard a game warden saying that it could be considered taking game with the aid of artificial light, that was quite a few years ago though. Great looking sight though.

I use the Spott Hogg Right On sight 0.19 pins w/ sight light. It's a awesome sight and virtually indestructible. The G5's look great also, and the best part about them is you don't have to adjust the centerline when moving the pins vertically. I don't think you could go wrong with either sight.

Keith,

Good catch. The way I read it in the AZ regs 2006/2007, it appears NOT to be legal...

"Hunters cannot use lighted sight pins or other artificial light sources to extend legal shooting hours"

Anyone have a problem with game warden/AZG&F regarding lighted sight pins?

Take Wildlife During Closed Season, After

Legal Hours or With Aid of Artificial Light

(A.R.S. 17-309 A 11 and 17-301 A) Pages 54 and 53

Wildlife may only be taken during times prescribed by the

Commission and closed season shall be in effect unless

opened by Commission Order. Pay particular attention

to 1/2 day dove seasons and review the Commission

orders related to the species you are pursuing before

leaving home. Use of spotlights to locate game is illegal

if you have any weapons in your vehicle. If fear of theft

is a concern, you should disable your firearm or bow and

make it obvious that it is incapable of firing. Examples are

leaving all ammunition, arrows and/or barrels or bolts

in camp. Hunters cannot use lighted sight pins or other

artificial light sources to extend legal shooting hours.[color=#FF0000]

Does anybody have info on the lighted sight pins, or other light sources on sights?

The G5 looks impressive, here is my order of interest.

1. hogg-it hunter (best reputation)

2. Toxonics with dampener (seems to have the best price, plus with the fiber optic cable, you won't need a light).

3. G5

I really like the Sure loc Lethal Weapon Max. You can buy it with 3 pins or 5. It is a moveable sight so I can adjust it out to about 120 yards. Of course I would not shoot that far when hunting but it is great practice to shoot your hunting bow at long distance. It also gives you the ability to set it for "46 yards" if you have the time to make the adjustment.

I really like any of the spot hog sights. The seven deadly pins is an awesome sight, so are the real deal and the right on.

I think the key is "to extend legal shooting hours" IMO it is okay to have them on to be able to see pins better during regular shooting hours. I put a light on my SDP for my kansas turkey hunt because I was going to be in a pop up blind in the dark trees, even at 8 am it is still pretty dark inside.

I also like the sure lok someday I hope to own one, right now no real complaints with my spot hogg

I believe WHT_MTNMAN understands the rule correctly.

Some confusion may come in when some record books may have other various rules about electronic devices.

Too bad I have never had to be concerned about this.

I have two real deals, one seven deadly pins, the best sight by far is the Spot Hog Hunter Hoggit.

Just a question here. If someone has shot a hunter hoggit and has found a better sight, spank me please.

Interesting.

I like that halo idea. Gives you several reference points if you practice. Looks like you could sight in the halo for 40 and use the top and bottom of the halo for other yardages without moving the sight.

Were you planning on eliminating your peep by getting the pin with it?

I didn't see where they stated the diam. of the sight window or if they had a third axis.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Product I had never seen before or considered (halo technology).

I'm going with the Montec ME (lighted pin site). Going with the interpretation presented by Dave (can I get your phone number ) just in case AzGame and Fish arrests me :) -Just kiddin'

Lucky for me I'm in the record book, without the aid of a lighted site, so hey it's all good (still have to call Pope and Young) to find out what their take is on it.

Good news is the site has been ordered, bad news it's on backorder. Went to the website and fact is that production can't meet demand. Should be at least 30 days before it comes. Just in time for summer deer and Pre elk practice.

Appreciated the feedback.
