azslim Report post Posted March 20, 2012 We enjoy brown and serve sausage, just pull a couple links from the freezer, nuke them for 30 to 45 seconds and brown them up in a pan with eggs or dice up for the gravy for biscuits and gravy. Yesterday I decided to try to make some. Used my Yankee Sage recipe and ground turkey from Costco, then the jerky shooter pistol to string it out on the drying racks and baked for an hour at 250, let it cool then sliced into about 6" links . Have a big bag in the freezer now, just pull out a couple links, nuke for 30 secs then brown up in a pan. This brown and serve stuff is great for hunting camps too, since it's already cooked it will keep in the cooler for several days. Here is the recipe: 3 to 4 lbs ground meat, your choice what kind 3 TBL finely chopped or dried and crumbled sage or 2 to 3 tsp ground. I used 2 Tbl crumbled because I was using 3 lbs of meat 1 Tbl kosher salt 1 Tbl blk pepper 1/4 tsp cayenne 1/4 tsp savory 1/4 tsp marjoram 1/4 tsp thyme 1/8 tsp ginger pinch of ground cloves 1/4 cup water mix all together and say yum, yum When I do this next time I think I'll add some minced onions and garlic or garlic powder.
