200"mulie Report post Posted March 27, 2012 First year in a long time I won't be applying to NM for anything. They don't want us out-of-state DIY hunters, so I won't buy a license to apply. Funny thing is, the outfitters will still make their money but the state will lose out on applicants. It will be interesting to see how long the state will lose money so that the outfitters can take advantage of this law before they wake up. No worries, we have plenty of game right here. Funny been looking to hunt out of state for year or two...been trying to save money...then they cut the percent of tags....now i'm looking at utah and colorado.....i'm studying and trying to understand there regs though. So i wonder if there are doing the draw now but not charging cards till results are up online. Cause they learned there lesson. "Be advised that if your card is invalid at the time the random drawing is run, it will result in rejection of your application (regardless of posted results)." was in the email. Now applicant "B" put in for 5B north as well and he is the next in line and his draw results say Not Drawn but being A got rejected they then give it to B. Now B thinks he did not get drawn but low and behold his tag shows up sometime in April and he is happy dude. Their results page will show successfully drawn but due to a lack of sufficient funds, they were denied a tag. This will be handled before they release results. The last year they had the online apps for elk I knew someone that got a call from the G&F after the results were posted (her results were not drawn). They were asked if they still wanted a cow tag for 6a as they were next in line and someones CC did not fund for some reason or another and they ended up with a cow tag. Tines Report post Posted March 27, 2012 This time of year is crazy, I agree. Almost ridiculous that we get so worked up. But we do and hopefully it won't change for my kids. But two questions to propose: How does the G and F benefit from posting results BEFORE or DURING CC transactions? Seems counter-intuitive. And second, would there be any LESS applicants year after year if our CCs were hit a week or so before the draw and we knew the "results" prior to the official result?
