AZSFW Latest Tactic and ADA and AAF Positions

Recommended Posts

They probably received a lot of comments that overwhelmed their site.

Actually the suggestion box not working is the fault of some out of date software. I am the admin for the ADA website and that suggestion box doesn't work because the hosting company no longer supports that part of the old software I used to create and that I use to maintain the site. The suggestion box hasn't worked for sometime now. The ADA hopes to have a redesigned website in the near future.

but anyone wanting to provide comments to the ADA can email me with those and I can share with the board. Or you can call the phone number listed on the website.

Also, I am asking that you all please stop with the personal attacks. CouesWhitetail.com is not to be used to tear anyone down. This site was created to provide a fun community for hunters to share their successes and a way to promote our hunting heritage in a positive and productive fashion. I know this bill has lots of people riled up (including myself), but I ask that you refrain from personal attacks that do nothing to further the debate of this issue. Personal attacks just waste my time and yours by not focusing on what you can do to stop the bill. I am beyond fed up with the personal attacks and feel that I have done a poor job moderating this debate which has only led to further problems. I would like to remind everyone that these comments make the poster and this forum liable for court action. I will be taking a harder line moderating this debate from now on. Please help me out and stick to the facts and not the personalities involved. And many thanks to those that have already been doing exactly that. If you have a beef with someone personally, please contact them directly rather than posting personal attacks here.

what to know what you can do to stop the bill? here is a thread with good info in it for action you can take today: http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=31256

I wholeheartedly agree.

This used to be THE place on the net that was so different from the other sites remember?

We have slowly veered off course and need to get back to our core values as a forum.

I am on board with having responsive and consistent moderating, & just so everyone knows, there is a "Report" button

at the bottom left corner of every post. Signed in members can use that to alert moderators of a post that gets out of line.

That makes it easier on the moderators and we all, in turn, police ourselves. I ask that everone be proactive in

helping the forums maintain positive and productive content.

There are MANY other forums on the world wide web that cater to those that want to do nothing but stir the pot or flame away at others.

Thanks Amanda for all you do in regards to this website. I know it can bury you at times.

Also the little "+" and "-" buttons on the bottom left of each post used to work... but I think PBJ broke them, when his score reached -148 or something close to that... B)

No doubt HB2072 isn't perfect "as it's written"...However I believe a lot of spin has been put on it and the intentions of the AZSFW. There is a group of guys there that have done a lot of good, contributed a lot of time and money to conservation and wildlife in Arizona...Yes, maybe They made a mistake in the way they handled and introduced HB2072...It happens...they realize that and apologized for it...Let's move on...Personally I think there is WAY more to it than "political rhetoric"...and rich guys wanting more tags...AZSFW is not the "enemy" as some of you have labeled them...The real enemy to what we love to do...Hunting...are the Anti hunting and animal rights groups...We as hunters need to band together and quit this turmoil amongst ourselves...whether you are an Average Joe hunter or can afford to hunt anywhere in the world, whether you are a traditional bow hunter or a long range shooter, whether you enjoy hunt high fence or hike into the middle of the wilderness...ultimately doesn't matter if the Anti's get their way......Its real, it's a problem and it's not going away....it's going to be a political battle...not a street fight...It takes time and money to fight these fights...The critter groups do a great job but money and time is already spread thin...Who's going to do it? Wheres the money going to come from?

Again, you can not take public resource generated conservation monies and use them for political lobbying. As soon as this group started the innermixture of conservation and politics, it was the deathnell of their legacy. They are attempting to become through legislation a political entitlement the same as NAACP and ACORN, socialism at it's worst. They made this mistake not us and they are continuing it... and so we continue to denounce them... all they have to do is quit.

"Yes, maybe They made a mistake in the way they handled and introduced "

lets see - they betrayed the trust of every organization by having the attitude -- WE DECIDED

they didnt discuss or communicate ,they tried to sneak it thru and make it a law before we could even think about it!! a few decided what was better for everyone.

" they apologized for it...Let's move on-- "

trust has to be earned - then they insult us - tell us we don't whats good for us. you'll be sorry.

they further insult us by the continued push to get the tags, the wording changed to say hey - we'll give you a piece of the pie

They still want the cream of the hunting tags. They still want to change the rules. They still want to control the money!

We do not need someone who wants to control the G&F department.

We do not need someone who says give us the money, just do not ask what we do with it. you'll get some

we need someone whom we can trust and will communicate with us and be open and honest - it's not azsfw

jack, I heard the identical pitch you just presented and it was presented back in 2005/2006 as the reason to set up azsfw. I was hesitant back then but I gave in and trusted those same guys, figuring they must know more than me. now I can't support them, they either are intentionally secretive or have a side agenda because they still have not come out with tangible threat that shows why they should control all the money, decision making and management of Arizona's wildlife. everyone understands the 4 main tenants of azsfw's letter to sportsmen. we all have agreed that 1. access to private lands. 2. recruitment & retention 3. predator control 4. environmentalist threats...........are the major issues we face. problem with all the guys related to hb2072 is that none of them can explain how they will do these functions any better. I. personally have met with many of these backers and could not be provided with 1 example of a new plan to address the 4 areas of concern. that being said, I have zero comfort level that they will efficiently spend our resources for the betterment of wildlife.......allen Taylor...p.s. there has been ample time for anyone affiliated with hb2072 to contact me or some of the forums with a pln outline showing what they would do any better than the current system. transparency would sure be a fresh tactic

I respect your opinions but I see it differently...

The critter organizations trusted the AZSFW enough to donate/sponsor them...correct? Do the critter organizations call all its members/sponsors/donors when making decisions to ask all their opinions on every topic/waterhole project etc...Or do members of the organization make decisions that they see best at the time and get stuff done? And yes I say "maybe they made a mistake..." because I do not believe the Intent was to betray, insult, decide for everyone...Just how it is Perceived...In a nutshell I believe the Intent was to create another way to raise revenue in an effort to help and protect our way of life...right wrong or indifferent everybody has better opinions, ideas, and can do it better but who is doing it?

We do not need someone who wants to control the G&F department...So the G&F (a few) decides whats best for everyone? Ironic...We do not need to control...but sportsmen need to have more influence than we do..,

I do agree there needs to be transparency...having a representative from each critter group attend their meeting or vice versa...doesn't seem outta line or that hard to fix

Every time SFW (not just AZ SFW) gets in hot water the conversation is turned toward the need for unity in the hunting world. Don Peay has actually hinted that a person is either with SFW or they should join PETA. Calling for unity of course. It is SFW IMO that destroys unity by their actions. If money is needed for the issues brought up, why change the cuurent requirement for the tags? If it is about raising money, why not have 100% of the money go to the problem? This is a great way for AZ SFW to start their own expo with an AZ subsidy via tags. Nothing more. A person can look to Utah (the model AZ SFW is using) to see what will most likely happen. No accountability, millions generated for a select few. This is a backroom deal that blew up in their faces. No need to twist this into a unity discussion. Another point: if this expo is really going to generate the millions they claim, do they really need the tags to cover their costs? The new proposal is to give 30% to G&F. So, they actually need cost-plus-70% of the remaining money when they predict 25 million generated. It simply does not add up. If they came out and offered 100% back, according to their numbers, they are still going to make millions for wildlife.
