couescrazy31 Report post Posted March 14, 2012 I have a model 700 sps stainless in 7mm RUM. I want to shoot the berger vdl bullets although they call for 11:1 twist, im not sure what the twist on my gun is. if my gun does not have enough twist will the bullets still shoot good? any info appreciated. azgutpile Report post Posted March 14, 2012 I would be surprised if you have a slower twist than 1:11. You probably either have a 1:9, or 1:10. You can check this by running your cleaning rod along with a tight patch, and measure how much movement it takes before the rod rotates one revolution ( due to the rifling). missedagain Report post Posted March 14, 2012 Remington advertises that gun with a 1 in 9 1/4 which would be faster than a 1 in11. I think you will be ok.
