Gentleman, I appreciate your posts. They are passionate. It’s that kind of passion that gets results. Before addressing this topic again I would like to say if we as sportsmen could channel that passion in a constructive, respectful way to not only helping wildlife but in our communities as a whole I feel like we would be better off. I personally believe a lot of the struggles we face in the hunting community are simply microcosms of the society as a whole. If we improve society, are respectful of differing opinions, and work together for a common end result…..we will improve our hunting heritage.

Philosophically, I respectfully disagree with a “no position” being the same as support. There was great thought into that position. I do my best to be honest and non-hypocritical. I say this because, politically, I have grown weary of the political climate in this country. I have seen businesses and special interest groups wield their power and persuasion to get results circumventing the democratic process directly and indirectly by using their influence to motivate individuals into voting one way or another on an issue simply because of their popularity. It seems as though that is ONE of the reasons many of you who oppose this bill have a big problem with it…..not trusting the organization and the stewardship of the funds once it was generated. I can completely empathize with you on this matter. I am not saying there was this hidden agenda as implied but does this happen in today’s society? Most certainly. We have to have transparency when it comes to public resources.

So I would be completely hypocritical if I would try and use my own personal company as a way to persuade even one friend one way or another on an issue such as this. An issue where there are two differing beliefs on how to best help our wildlife. Now on a personal level, I personally do not have a hard stance because honestly I didn’t even know about the bill until after these proposed changes were put to the table. It seems as though since they made those amendments the AZSFW even recognized that there were improvements that needed to be made. And that’s a direct result of people speaking up to stop something that seems to many to have been flawed, so kudos to all who helped keep the checks and balances in place. I am a man born of the scientific process. I do not make hard stances on an issue or make decisions in my life without due diligence based on fact. I have not done due diligence on this bill as I wasn’t even aware of it and I haven’t done my due diligence on the AZSFW to give an opinion on their integrity of an organization and honestly I don’t plan on it anytime soon. I have a primary career that eats up a huge chunk of my time, I started up a small business at a time that is not ideal for this, and more importantly I have gone through some major family changes in the last year where my PRIMARY focus is my kids. So when I say I don’t have an opinion on it, I don’t have an opinion on it. I trust that you as individuals just as any individuals that have any affiliation with Triclawps will do your own due diligence on issues such as this when you see fit. You do not need businesses trying to use their differing powers to messy the waters. I personally feel that is one of the major problems our society faces.

This I will say as an official statement for Triclawps: Our interest and support is first, for the overall, long term health and conservation of wildlife and second, to maintain the rights and privileges of the shooting and hunting community to be stewards in the process of this conservation. We do not pretend to know the answers as to how to achieve that but one thing we would want is for UNITY and for these decisions to be made as a united group via diplomatic means…….I personally would be in support of a plan that achieved BOTH these desires but am against any proposition that does not have the majority support of The Sportsmen and divides us. On a personal level I want UNITY and as a business owner that is what I want…united sportsmen achieving our goals so we can focus more on what we love to do……That’s a win win for everyone involved. That should make it clear where I currently stand on this issue WITHOUT KNOWING ALL OF THE BILL'S SPECIFICS. I understand there is frustration on this issue but trust me as I’ve outlined Triclawps is not your enemy here as we were wrongly brought in to this. We are an ally and support UNITY of Sportsmen not one particular group. And in specifics, we are focused on doing what we do best, providing useful tools to help Sportsmen be successful in the field! Feel free to email me with any knowledge or thoughts you all may have on this particular issue or any future conservation questions as I love healthy discussion for a common goal! I have provided my personal email for this. Thanks!

Cade,

I agree with Kent, noone should hammer your business randomly on HB 2072. However, since your friend made a bad move (kind of like Denham and the elk magazine) you have to take action to aggressively clear your name and the name of Triclawps. HB 2072 and the AZSFW/AZSFWC/SFW are dirty and dishonest and are bad for business. And by the way, they have made NO material changes to the bill despite what you have been told. Taking a stand isnt hypocritical, it is actually a good way to earn more customers.

I am working on a list of bad companies and good alternatives. Kind of like the "good guy/green guy" thread I have been updating (I updated that list yesterday by the way - some groups went yellow). Disavow HB2072 and AZSFW/AZSFWC/SFW and your business will end up on the good guy list. Sign up for the Arizona Wildlife Federation and earn even more good guy points. People have a choice about where they spend their money and I am trying to do the world a favor by helping to sort them out publicly. My first good corporate comparison list will be posted next Friday on the good guy thread.

Jay Lopeman is listed as co-owner of Triclawps LLC. Lopeman already made it clear he supports 2072. Nobody randomly involved them.

As far as I am concerned your finely tuned response is suspect. Me thinks that thou protests to much. You have made a business decision to not comment but your no comment has spoke volumns. The often used no comment statement is very political. And obviously your appeal did not wash.

Alot of people are greatly under estimating the intelligence and the will of "average Joe".

Total hypocrisy from these guys . These guides stand to make alot a money if this goes thru.

Wonder how much tequila was consumed around the campfire as they brewed up a plan to screw the average Arizona hunter.

Mr. Hamberlin : Please quit sending me your emails. I am not buying into your rape of the Arizona hunters!

Yeah Cade, I actually found your first post to be sincere - not wanting your business to get dragged into this mess based on the comments made by a co-owner. I've since then become a little more passionate about this issue. Quite frankly, I think this is one of those "You're with us or you're against us" moments.

This topic is too important to plead the 5th or sit it out and see whether this harms or benefits you. This is one you have to get informed about and pick a side. I have chosen my side, which is to oppose this bill and any future versions of it. I won't do business in any way with anyone who either sides with this bill, or has an active career centered around hunting and doesn't overtly oppose it. No time or room for fence turtles on this one.

You are right ! DesertBull.

I was just venting after recieving his email today!

I also was peeved at a post that was deleted on another forum site known to be frequented by Jay Lopeman and Mossback guides!

I had said things like : "Good old boy network" and" cronyism between some guides and wealthy clients"

To me this is a passionate subject and I am treating it like, when I go hunting and those that know me or my posts know I usally get what critter I am after! :)
