Arizona Wildlife Federation Statement on HB2072

Recommended Posts

Doesn't anyone read my posts? I just explained (p.1 of this thread) that AWF was never a member or affiliate of AZSFW. Kind of hard to resign from a group you never belonged to.

I'm not sure where anyone said they were a member, but they are an org and a non-supporting one which counts when the orgs are added up for the 'qualified organization' as written if it comes to that.

The guys in the awf have always had a lotta bark on em. I think it's time now to forget about the sfw and start calling these thieves out by name. A little mud goes a long way. Some of these auction tag boys associate with some real questionable characters. That kinda stuff needs to hit the fan too. Lark.

AWF is a GREAT group, I accept that they have never had any ties to AZSFW or AZSFWC. I just came across this on their website http://www.azwildlife.org/ht/d/sp/i/60463/pid/60463 and thought they might want to remove it, it happens to be on an obscure page. Am I missing something?...maybe I am

I am going to join this group myself and was not implying they were anything other than people that would be welcome anytime at my campfire. I really appreciate the time they spent to create such a well formulated rebuttal.

Ryan,

AWF supported the WCC, the organiztion that orignated the plates long ago. A couple of years ago the WCC affiliated with AZSFWC simply to keep the plate fund going. WCC was in trouble due to lack of participation and probably would not have survived. I have had an orignal plate #WA0006 since about 2003/4.

We need to ensure that the plate fund survived because the funding goes to wildlife conservation.

Got it, AWF is solid. I support them and hope others will become members too.

I spoke with my cousin who is a reporter for channel 12 news and gave him the Cliff Notes version of what's going on and he thought it was a great topic for a story on the news. I know enough about the HB2072 and roughly who the people behind it are to make myself feel like I'm dangerous, but I don't know enough to give him the facts and details. If you've been involved and know details, names, etc.. and would be willing to speak with him, please PM me your information and I'll pass it along to my cousin.

Hopefully this could provide the spotlight that we've all been trying to shine on AZSFW and this proposed bill.

Greg
