PhxDT Report post Posted April 13, 2015 Your an butt! Funny but really? Just for the heck of it you killed an animal? Ok then. Not proud of it, and it certainly wasn't intentional. Super windy up there and it just took off. Like said, felt bad about it. Its actually kind of shocking when a wild animal jumps on you.
Huntnchick Report post Posted May 6, 2015 These are crazy stories!!! My husband shot a coyote when it was stalking a baby cow. And we saw a duck that was dead and wrapped in fishing line.
azmetalman Report post Posted May 6, 2015 One evening last summer I was walking down my driveway to the mailbox and saw about 10 inches of a rattlesnake's tail sticking out of a small diameter hole. I went back to the house and got my snake loop. When I slipped the loop around the tail the snake didn't budge so I moved the loop to the point the body was exiting the hole. When I tightened up on the loop and tried to pull it out .........10 inches of rattlesnake popped off. It was dead. Judging from the diameter of the snake compared to the diameter of the hole I suspect it went in the hole, swallowed a rat and couldn't go forward or back. Str8Shot Report post Posted May 6, 2015 I was hiking in Zion national park about 20 years ago. We did the Angel's landing hike. If anyone has done it, they know that there is a little knob, the "landing" where you can sit and see a straight dropoff of 1,000 feet or so in every direction. The squirrels are pretty bold on that little knob and I kicked one that was getting on my foot. He had quite a fall down. I felt bad about that, and a buddy of mine still gives me crap about it. So to be clear ... You are not French and this is not you ? Last I heard there was about 100k being offered to give this guy up ... wonder if he is still out there kicking squirrels ? https://youtu.be/SIXGEj9nwLw
murfys69law Report post Posted May 6, 2015 That's how pigmies catch pythons. They build a bamboo cage just big enough for the python to get in and tie a pig inside of cage. Snake eats pig and can't get through door and they got him.

Far more accidental than that. That's awful.
hoghntr Report post Posted May 24, 2015 Don't know who it was or where but saw several pics of a man and his wife on a ride with their 2 dogs and they were riding mules. They came upon a mountain lion that was ready to attack the dogs. He got off and grabbed a gun but was too late. His mule took off and stomped, bit, kicked, stomped and kicked some more. The last pic I saw was the mule picking up the cat in his mouth and dropping. You may be able to find this on utube or some other site. Basic moral is...DON"T F^%$ with a mule. Ok..This story is fake but I just can't believe a mule would play with a dead cat like this..wow.... You can see the pictures of the mule biting and throwing the cat in the air . Just google mule kills mountain lion.Granted this is a yote and not a lion but do not mess with a mule! mules were used and still probably are used to protect livestock. so when you see a mule hangin with some goats or some such thing just think of him as 'SPEC OPS'
Lofty Report post Posted November 2, 2016 About 8 years ago my father in law was driving down a dirt road in 27 looking out the passenger window when he caught movement out of the corner of his eye. He turned his head just in time to see a wild horse hit the front fender of his truck. The worst part was the horse spun down the truck and sharted all over the inside of the truck and my father in law. Funniest thing I have ever heard when I got to camp that night. Non-Typical Solutions Report post Posted November 3, 2016 Probably not all that wierd but it was kinda spooky. We drove past this tank every day for 5 days and all the sudden here is this fawn laying off to the side. It's hair is matted like it had been in the water. It's head is at an awkward position for where it is laying. There were obivious drag marks from the tank which was about 10 feet. No sign of struggle, no sign of bullet holes. This would have been Tuesday morning that I found it there. Maybe somebody found it in the tank and pulled it out to not cause the water to be messed up. Looked fairly recent and I can't imagine that I missed it going past there every day.....as the OP says......weird!!!

Been too long since anyone posted here! I saw this happen with a elk. It blewout all the wondows on buddys old car and crapped inside mostly on back window sill.. It was old lincoln or some such beast car. He brought the elk home and his mom asked if he had salvage permit. And since he said no his mom called cops to keep him out of trouble, HE HAD NO CAR INSURANCE!!! It was a very expensive elk.
lancetkenyon Report post Posted April 9, 2018 I can't believe I haven't posted this here. A couple years ago, my brother and I were varmint hunting. We were sitting about 50 yards from a power pole. We heard what sounding like a .22 pop behind us, then a thud. Walked back, and this raven had landed on a power line, and tried to get a dead sparrow that had previously grounded itself out and electrocuted himself. Well, the raven made the same grounded connection. It was super wild to hear it happen right behind us. Blew off both of his legs, burn marks on the feet, sparrow leg still in his beak.
dakotakid Report post Posted June 22, 2018 Interesting thread and one I can actually contribute to. 1st post for me! Once saw a long dead cougar whos entire head - eyes, nose, and mouth was full of quills. Died from starvation or infection. Several pheasants over the years hitting power lines or barbed wire fence when flushed. Wild hawk whacked a hen pheasant I flushed. Found a Barn owl electrocuted on a transformer. I spooked a whitetail doe when pheasant hunting that ran across a frozen pond and broke through the ice. She didnt make it out, but thankfully went down quick.
