javihammer Report post Posted March 1, 2012 Thumbs up to our first three good guy org members, who will be next? Our small group of "almost every hunter in the Western United States" is looking forward to supporting you in the future. Hope you stop by and stay for a while. The jury is still out for the orgs listed in black, we hope to see an entire list of good guys in the near future. I added a few more critter groups to the list. I didn’t add these groups initially because some aren’t really hunting groups but I think there are some that should be credited with good guy (green status). I would ask the membership of CW.com to update this post regularly and provide supporting evidence if we need to update the status of a particular group. If you are a board member of a group, feel free to update this thread directly. I will own updating this thread to reflect any new “green” guys. Please support the good orgs, at least send them a nice note if you are strapped for time or money. If you have some money, consider becoming a member or attending one of their functions. The criteria for green status is as follows. • The group does not support AZSFW and has made a public statement confirming as such. • The group has made a public statement that AZSFW/AZSFWC does not speak to the interests of their organization and/or their membership • The group does not believe in the concept of HB 2072 or any other bill that espouses similar principles Anglers United - http://anglersunited.org/directors___committees.html Arizona Antelope Foundation - http://azantelope.org/About_Us/about_us.html - no response at all yet Arizona Bass Federation Nation - http://azbfn.com/az-club-info.html Arizona Bowhunters Association - http://www.arizonabowhunters.org/1BdMem.html - Will be green pending proof of separation from AZSFWC Arizona Chapter SCI - http://azsci.com/contact.htm Arizona Desert Bighorn Sheep Society - http://adbss.org/board_of_directors.html - Will be green with proof of separation from AZSFWC Arizona Deer Association - http://azdeer.org/board_of_directors.htm Arizona Ducks Unlimited - http://www.ducks.org/arizona/az-content/area-contacts Arizona Flycasters Club - http://www.azflycasters.org/Pages/Board.html Arizona Houndsmans Association - I could not find information for this group Arizona Trappers Association - http://www.angelfire.com/az2/ATA/3.html Coconino Sportsman - info to follow Hunt of a Lifetime - http://www.hoalarizona.org/contactus.php Mohave Sportsman Club - http://mohavesportsmanclub.com/Officers.html National Wild Turkey Federation - AZ Chapter - http://www.nwtf.org/in_your_state/lists.php?STATE=AZ Outdoor Experience For All - http://www.outdoorexperienceforall.org/contact_us.html Southwest Walleye Anglers - http://swwalleye.org/events.htm Arizona Trout Unlimited Council - http://az-tu.org/chapters.html AZ Elk Society - http://arizonaelksociety.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=55&Itemid=57 Yuma Valley Rod and Gun Club - https://sites.google.com/a/yumarodandgun.org/home/

40-year-AZ-hunter Report post Posted March 1, 2012 I don't get it. The groups that have split with AZSFW and those that are still on the fence.
yotebuster Report post Posted March 1, 2012 How do unrelated entities "split" from one another? Example, what does the az ducks unlimited have to do with azsfw and their dealings?
yotebuster Report post Posted March 1, 2012 I do know about the antics of the azsfw, just wanting clarification on the reason the others need to pick sides. Funny side note, the autocorrect on my iPhone puts the word "waste" in place of "azsfw". Hahaha. Ironic.
archerycrazy Report post Posted March 1, 2012 Javihammer, You have posted a list of organiztions that support kermit. It looks like AES, NWTF and YVRGC not longer support for one reason or another. My question is, Do the organiztions listed as currently supporting "Kermit" still support HB 2072 and the organiztion that continues to make the effort to move it forward? It appears that AES, NWTF AND YVRGC have eliminated support for "Kermit" George
javihammer Report post Posted March 1, 2012 The groups in green have come out against the AZSFW and the concept of HB 2072. These are the confirmed good guys right now. I know other groups are having meetings and I will change them to green when they make a statement. Green = good guys. I was going to color the rest yellow as "proceed with caution" but it was hard to read. Once again, green status means that the group supports the interests of average joe hunters, it has nothing to do with environmentalism or anything. Maybe I should have chosen a better classification system. Maybe I still will .
runningbird Report post Posted March 2, 2012 can you list what remaining groups have board members that are also on the board of AZSFW then you can guess who won't leave.
tjhunt2 Report post Posted March 2, 2012 I was told at the ada banquet booth that ada was sending out a survey to each of their members, this week or next, on how each member feels about ada staying or splitting from the AZSFW. Has anyone received one yet? TJ
javihammer Report post Posted March 3, 2012 Coconino Sportsman and Hunt of a lifetime are the newest wildlife groups added to the good guy list. I have limited contact information for them right now, I will try to get it out there soon so that all of us can send them a note of appreciation and support. I have changed them to green on my original post for this thread. Congratulations guys! Keep em comin' Ryan

javihammer Report post Posted March 4, 2012 I just wanted to highlight some new good guy honorable mentions that have surfaced over the last couple of days. Arizona Wildlife Federation - Wrote a great letter against the concepts espoused by HB 2072. Probably the single best rebuttal against HB 2072. Please check their website for a list of businesses that support them. (Did anyone notice if Ruger was on that list, I forgot) RMEF - Wrote a letter against HB 2072 and sent it to Governor Brewer. It was a great letter by a great group, thanks RMEF....glad you are one of the good guys. Norm Freeman - He has always been a good guy but recently became an even better guy by putting together a website with lots of good information related to hunt opportunity for average Joes. Thanks Norm (and Mark) for making this happen. Robbie Woodhouse - Wrote a letter and posted it to Commissioner Freeman's webpage. This letter is also critical of HB 2072 and the people behind it. The only sad part is that Robbie's term as Commissioner just ended, it doesnt matter though, he is confirmed as a good guy. Good to have you Robbie. Nick Heatwole - This guy used to be a member of the AZSFW board early on, he recently formally resigned from AZSFW and posted proof on the AZSFW facebook page. His letter can be found on TheArizonaHunter.com and confirms he is also a good guy. Thanks Nick, it is great to see a good guy made it off that sinking ship. We have plenty of room for more groups and people at the good guy campfire and I promise to recognize them quickly when they surface. As for those on the fence (listed in black font on my original thread post), we will be incorporating some new colors on the list in the near future. PS - Has the Mohave Sportmans Club made any statements yet? I noticed the Yuma group did but I havent seen anything from the Northwest corner of the state. I sure hope they do soon. runningbird Report post Posted March 4, 2012 I saw this on another site..... " have been told that Chris Denham and Floyd Green have quit AZSFW !" if it is true you may be able to color a couple more green soon.
