matthewp45 Report post Posted March 4, 2012 Those cats sure aren't the cute cuddly ones people have at home. I have choked out a ton of cats. All of them on leg hold traps. My good buddy Tom Gobbler and I were checking a line and we had caught a giant Tom. He was in no way a happy camper. He was a little upset. In fact he wanted to get us so bad he backed up to the end of the chain and ran straight at us and when he hit the end of the chain he stretched the spring straight that allows the chain to give so it won't break any bones and pow cat goes crazy. He had so much anger and strength when he hit the end of the chain that brand new spring, which I couldn't stretch out was straightened and it and broke his femor in half he had so much power. After that it was tough to choke him out because he was going crazy but he fetched $475. Looks like you did a great job choking him out, usually you see hair stripped from people geting the loop in the cats mouth or just around the muzzle. Great job on a great cat. Just keep it up and you will be making some good money. Anyway enjoy trapping as you already know it is a lot of fun and there is always something new to try. Also you can make some extra cash with the hides at some of the auctions. I believe we took the class together to get our trapping licenses. Don't forget to fill out that report now.
