DesertBull Report post Posted February 22, 2012 COLUMBUS, Ohio — An Ohio woman who compared animal-welfare work to the liberation of World War II concentration camps has been charged with soliciting a hit man to fatally shoot or slit the throat of a random fur-wearer, federal authorities said. Meredith Lowell, 27, of Cleveland Heights, appeared Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Cleveland, where a magistrate judge ordered her held by the U.S. Marshals Service pending a hearing next week, court records show. One of her defense attorneys, Walter Lucas, declined comment when reached by phone after the court appearance. Investigators say the FBI was notified in November of a Facebook page Lowell created under the alias Anne Lowery offering $830 to $850 for the hit and saying the ideal candidate would live in northeast Ohio, according to an FBI affidavit filed with the court on Friday. "I would like to create an online community on facebook whi8ch [sic] would allow me to find someone who is willing to kill someone wearing fur toward the end of October 2011 or early November 2011 or possibly in January 2012 or February 2012 at the latest," she wrote according to Cleveland.com. http://www.msnbc.msn...01#.T0VC34c7U24

billrquimby Report post Posted February 23, 2012 Don't know why anyone would be surprised that animal rights freaks want to kill humans who don't agree with them. The death threats I got from my hunting and fishing columns in the Tucson Citizen in the 1970s, 80s and 90s were downright scary, especially when they also included my wife and daughter. JMP Report post Posted February 23, 2012 Reading up on some hunting/fishing news this morning, I came across this article about the wolf OR7 which made its way from Oregon to CA, and it's brother OR9 that was shot in Idaho. http://www.laketahoenews.net/2012/02/ranchers-wolf-advocates-on-opposite-sides/ Highly slanted article in its own right, but the scary part is the first comment, which though not the face of crazy, is certainly the MIND OF CRAZY: I am appalled that a state with such great beauty, like Idaho, would not only be home to so many morons that would not only vote into office an idiot, but would stand by while a national treasure is destroyed and annihilated. I think tit for tat, it is time for a bounty to be put on those humans who feel it neccessary to hunt down are endangered wildlife, in other words it will allow the hunters to feel what the wolfs, mountain lions, bears, and other hunted wildlife feel, when they are relentlessly tracked down and destroyed! Why on earth would someone want to kill an animal as magnificent and humble as a wolf? Ranchers should be lucky that the real population of the earth allow them to be here. Maybe if the person that wrote that saw a pack of Wolves tear apart and eat their family pets, they might change their outlook, on what a magnificent animal the wolf is not. billrquimby Report post Posted February 24, 2012 Snapshot: The animal rights crowd believes that having a pet is akin to slavery. They believe that humans cannot possess an animal, and that animals have as many (if not more) rights that we do. Bill Quimby
