dtresca Report post Posted February 18, 2012 One more week until my first javelina hunt. Starting to get excited. Any advice out there for good .223 ammo? Thanks in advance.
yotebuster Report post Posted February 18, 2012 I'd use a 40 or 50 grain Vmax or ballistic tip. Hornady ammo is hard to beat, and usually priced right. If you can find HSM ammo that is usually priced well too and very good quality. ANything other then FMJ will be fine for javelina, FMJ would probably even do the trick but why risk it. azspike Report post Posted February 19, 2012 VMAX is the way to go. I really like the Hornady superformance ammo. Just make sure you are sighted in for the ammo you are hunting with. 45 to 50 grain can be a huge difference depending on your gun.
