WHT_MTNMAN Report post Posted April 6, 2006 Well I took my boy out big game hunting yesterday. Got out of school and took a real long road trip, (bout 5 miles) to find these bad boys. I went 3 for 3 and then proceded to miss the next two shots. Ranged one at 33 yards, the other at 22. One I shot at 31 yards had enough left in him to get down in his hole. Here is my son, my monster off-road vehicle, Couswhitetail.com sticker and this afternoons take. I finally think I'm tuned and shooting ok, ready for hunting season. desertsheep Report post Posted April 6, 2006 Houston, I think that one in your boy's right hand might just make book. You might want to get him scored and entered. desertsheep
Red Rabbit Report post Posted April 7, 2006 Nice outing with your son , but the season on Gunnison pririe dogs is closed from April 1 through June 15 (no kidding). Guess they figure the pd's need to breed and we need time to reload a bunch of rounds. RR

AZP&Y Report post Posted April 7, 2006 Rippin some arrows at the little guys, makes that deer or elk seem HUGH! Just curious, were your arrows ok after hitting those guys, (bent or broken). They look like carbons, so I'm sure they're durable just curious at $9.00 a pop if you faired ok? azp&Y
mulie hunter Report post Posted April 7, 2006 That looks like fun, and great practice too! AzP&Y he was probably using Carbon force Radial X weaves, they're practically indestructable!
WHT_MTNMAN Report post Posted April 7, 2006 We had alot of fun, I added the Coueswhitetail.com sticker the W 04 was a bonus came with the car. Arrows are just fine, they are the Easton ACC's, got them pretty cheap. Normally too expensive for my blood, but they are awesome no complaints at all. Used same arrow for all 5 shots, just rubber blunts. Oops I meant to say last week not yesterday in the opening post. thanks RR.
azpackhorse Report post Posted April 7, 2006 Nice shoot'n, looks like a fun day. Unless those are juvenile Gunnisons I beleive they are actually Round-Tailed Squirrels. Gunnisons would be in the 12"-14" range as where the Round-Tails will be more like 8". Anywho, good job on keeping the young'n interested.
az4life Report post Posted April 7, 2006 Now that is some sporting practice! This is an example of "Aim Small, Miss Small". 'Cept I don't see any miss. Great Shooting!
