Coyote Pelts

Recommended Posts

Guest VinMan

I have been out calling and have ran into a few coyotes that have been shot and left for the crows (nice furs)??????? This just really chaps my arss. People this fur is worth money, granted coyote may not be worth much. I get anywhere from 2 to 35 bucks for the ones I kill using a shotgon with #4 buck and a 223 down here in the southteastern part of the state. I donate the money to wildlife charities that I beleive in and use it for my license and hunt tags. Anyway!!!

I will just shut up but this is something that really bugs me. If your gonna kill it find a way to use it,

What's everyones opinion on this? I would love to hear it.

Where would one take pelts for trade/sell in southern Az?

I think the main thing is that most folks don't know how to skin a coyote so the pelt can be sold later! And it is alot of work for 20-30 bucks

Here is a skinnin demo;

The guy skinning is Jeff the owner of AJI sporting goods, he is a former trapper. He volunteers his time to help people out with their trapping needs! Very nice guy!

I will just shut up

Please do.

OK, so I have been a very long time lurker on this site. I finally registered and became a member because of your post. I do not understand why so many people choose to bash their own? What is the purpose of your post? Do you want a pat on the back because you sell your pelts? Are you on some sort of moral high ground because you choose to do something one way but bash someone else who does things their way, even though it is perfectly legal. Keep your retarded opinions to yourself. Comments and bickering like this only hurts all hunters in the end. Keep giving all of the true enemies ammo like this and they will eventually fill their guns and level them at us all. Just so you can get on your high horse. I am so happy that you sell your fur. Good for you. Personally, I leave the rotten yote carcasses where they lay. So I get to chap your arse and maybe save some deer in the process.

Well shutyourlib I reckon that's your prerogative. You see things one way, I see them another. I'm not here to get in a pissing contest. You do what you do I do what I do, doesn't really matter either way.

we're both just a speck of shiat in this world anyway.

I am not going to get in any pissing contest when folks are talking about skinning stuff. The thought of loraina bobit comes to mind. There are more then one reason for shooting them. A couple are To help your deer herds or for the pelts. When We move to thatcher I sure will be teaching my boys how to do it for both of the reasons I mentioned. During the summer I do I to help the deer herds. During the winter is for pelts.

From what I hear, when you shoot a coyote they usually drop their bundle of drugs. biggrin.gif

Now that's funny right there. I always skin coyotes after I shoot 'em. Got a couple of tan lamp shades to prove it - some have gold teeth dangling from them. :rolleyes: ;)
