COOSEFAN Report post Posted April 5, 2006 I unexpectedly lost my best friend yesterday. I am not posting this for sympathy but only to share with you all, my favorite pic's and best times with my best friend, Zeus. It is unexplainable how much I already miss him. I am going to spread his ashes over the exact places you see in these photos, that is where he would want to stay forever. I had a great deal of admiration for his passion for hunting and only wish I could have gotten him out one last time. Thanks, JIM
Kilimanjaro Report post Posted April 5, 2006 I feel for ya. I dread the day I have to do the same with my pups.. At least you know he had a good life and he got to do what he enjoy best.. hunt with his best friend in the whole world.. you. I think he'll be happy in that place you picked for him. I have a 14 year old GSP and she is failing fast on me--i will not know how to act with out her. I hope you can find a new friend and make new memories with him or her. COOSEFAN Report post Posted April 6, 2006 Thank you everyone for your reply's! It actually helps. It's hard going through my daily routine where everything's the same except a big part is missing. I also have a German Shorthair Pointer, "Harley", and it's hard watching her look around for Zeus all the time. The one thing that is commonly said to me is that he got to live a full life and he was loved. It is sad how many dogs are out there that are mistreated, neglected or just don't have anyone to love them, Zeus wasn't one of them. I just pray that he is up in heaven retreiving Mallards and Pintails to his hearts content! I'll never forget him.

Idahocoueshunter Report post Posted April 10, 2006 I lost my hunting companion of 14 years last summer. I spent the next few months looking for her in her usual haunts, thinking I had to feed her or having her load up in the pickup. There a part of the family and it just takes time. Sorry. Craig.
