Anybody on here members

Recommended Posts

I am thinking of joining the local AZ chapter of SCI here in Tucson. I haven't been a member of a local chapter since leaving TX back in '03. I kinda miss it. We had the West Texas chapter back home. I know a few guys here that are in the local club out here and they say its a pretty good crowd. Just wanted to see if any of you regulars on here were part of either the AZ chapter here in Tucson, or in the Phoenix chapter. If so, what are your thoughts of the two local chapters here in AZ......

Scottyboy. I'm an SCI life member, but am not a chapter member at present. I hear good things about the Tucson chapter, and know many of its members. They're good guys.

Bill, we need to hit the next meeting out here and have a few cold ones.. :D

I'd like to do that, except we're heading up to the cabin on 24 April and won't be down until late October. Also, that cold one will have to be a caffeine-free diet cola. My cardiologist says I can't have alcohol and other stimulants.

Bill,

Alcohol is really a depressant; that's why people are always crying in their beer. Either way, many of us would like to tip a soda once Bret gets the BBQ organized.

Bill, sounds good. When ya make it back down this way, we'll hit one of the local chapter's hooplas, and crack a couple of sodie waters..

Scott,

I was refering to a Greer gathering mentioned in the off season hobbies thread. Yep, some brisket smoked over mesquite sounds good. That BBQ place right on I-10 in Junction,TX has great smelling smoke that alone causes salivation :D . The brisket ain't bad either.

Doug, you mean I-10.... Yep, I know the exact spot your talking about. And if it works out, I'll be eating lunch there come next Sat after taking a few boss toms near Roosevelt. I have a buddy with a piece of heaven there that is covered with deer, turkeys, and axis out the wazoo.

Let me know about that BBQ.. I might make it if there is an open invatation!!

I'm not a member, but I know several of the folks from the Tucson chapter through my ADA trash pick-up & youth camp dealings. They're right in the middle of the semi-annual unit 36 ranch pick-up efforts.

Seems like a lot of energy in that bunch, and that they're doing some good things for the deer down south.
