Lance Report post Posted February 9, 2012 We had a lot of fun hunting Over The Counter elk here in Arizona this last season with some really great clients! I hope you enjoy the pictures off my phone from some of our OTC adventures. First we had Matt in Oct with his second elk. Matt took his first elk with us last year on the same hunt, and already planning for his third next season. This is a shed that Karen found during the Dec hunt. Its a shed from a bull that we took two shots at last year. Aparently we wised him up cause even though we got close he still avoided us again this year. lol After we crossed the icy Dec river a couple times it begain to get Really cold as the sun was going down so we built a fire while we waited. I couldn't help but take advantage of the photo opp with my son Weston and the 7mm RUM on the Rifle Rails. The next morning Blair was able to take this bull. Hunter Blair with his hard workin elk huntin crew! Hunter Dan took his first elk with us this January! Jan was a good time of year for Dan's schedule and as a Nonresident he didn't want to mess with the Draw process! We are all looking forward to his next years hunt! Next in January we had hunters Dean and Steve who were looking for a fun hunt and some cow elk to fill their freezers. It was a good time of year for them to hunt because of their jobs and they didnt have to mess with the draw. They both filled their tags and we are looking forward to their hunt next year! Steve took his elk first. And the next morning Dean took his elk while hunting with my son Ty. It was Dean's first elk! Enjoying some memories from one of the bulls we took last year with hunter Amy. My son Ty and I packing out the last couple elk of the season, and a couple of the first ones of the year! Thanks for looking. I hope you enjoyed the pictures. We had a great time making some priceless OTC hunt memories! I know there aren't any record book antelers to drool over, but some times it's just not about inches. db cooper Report post Posted March 2, 2012 Awesome work! I love these OTC hunts and cant believe when I hear people talk bad about them. My first time going out on one of these hunts, I told my friend that since there weren't very many elk in the area, I was going to shoot the first cow I saw. Of course, 30 minutes into the hunt, I saw 3 cows running with a 5x5 bull and that plan went out the window! I held off from shooting several cows and never caught up with the bull, tag soup again! So much fun, especially if you dont mind walking. I love watching hunters(?) drive right by game in ATVs and never even seeing it.
