azcouesandelk Report post Posted April 3, 2006 I went out to shoot my .280 again today out off of the Sugarloaf Mt. Rd. Started off setting the targets up and spotted a covey of quail up the hill and was able to snap a photo of one of the quail. Well here is the rounds I chose. These wre Hornady 139 grain SST. Here are 4 shots the bottom right is the first shot 1 click up and the one to the right and up is the second shot then 1 more click up and a click to the left and then the last 2 shots. This was at 100 yards.
Red Rabbit Report post Posted April 3, 2006 Next time you get to shoot, show us a 5-shot group. Looks like the rifle was moving to your scope adjustments well. I like the 280; it was the chambering(called 7mm Express back then) for my first rifle. Like that sentinel Gambel. RR
Guest Ernesto C Report post Posted April 3, 2006 I personally like the 3 shot group and then make the adjustments if necessary.Let the barrel cool off for at least 5 minutes between groups. Once you are sure your rifle is sight in or dead on,make the same 3 group shots at 200,300 and so on depending your comportable range. You are doing good just remember good practice, practice and more practice will make you a better shooter and will help with the confidence. Nice scout there.............she's fat.
