have2hunt Report post Posted March 28, 2006 I have lived my whole life in Greer until a few years ago when I came to NAU. I am very excited to head back when school is out. Greer is beautiful and has enough things to do outdoors to keep you entertained all year long. I take advantage of any spare time I get to get out and about. I am gonna go up in a few weeks to look for some horns and try to hook into a big brown trout in some of the Greer lakes. I also want to do a little scouting for my upcoming turkey hunt. Around mid May I always make a few trips to Black river on the reservation to slaughter the bass and catfish.
stanley Report post Posted March 28, 2006 Man, I LOVE Molly Butlers! Always have.... I remember going there as a kid in the summer and loving playing pool or pinball & goofing-off. Food was great, and now I love the fact that my kids are getting turned on to it. Get there early for the prime rib!!! Good stuff. S.
bullwidgeon Report post Posted March 29, 2006 I catch 3 pound trout, 5 pound smallmouths, 10 pound largemouths and 40 pound flatheads all summer long. I shoot every coyote I call in(usually around a bajillion or so a year, this year I am only around a half bajillion so far though), find truckloads of antlers, and generally act a fool all summer long. All this in between fending off hordes of adoring young women, feeding the hungry, curing the ill and saving the rainforest in my free time. Once in a while I hit Mr. Quimby up for lunch at the Chinese food place in Eagar. I am here to tell you that Mr. Quimby's place in Greer far from a "shack". I know "shacks", my grandparents have 2 in Eagar ... Bret M.

Bret M. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Bret: As always, you're invited to Chinese (or even Booga Red's) anytime we're up there at the same time. Compared to the 10,000-15,000-sq ft "cabins" sprouting up around us in Greer, my place is a shack. Your grandparents' places are not. Bill
Red Rabbit Report post Posted March 29, 2006 All of this talk of Greer brings back fishing memories. We'd go up for a week in the summer and fish all night for the browns. But that was back in yesteryear before the road to the lakes was paved and undeveloped camping across from RC Hoyer and atop the hill was undeveloped camping and there was only one Mercedes prked under the carport at the bridge. Does anyone know what Charlie and Sue Tripp from the Circle B are doing these days since they sold? Doug~RR
desertsheep Report post Posted March 29, 2006 It seems as though everybody as been to Greer at one time or another. I grew up in the White Mountains. Moved to the valley to goto school at CAC. Spent alot of days around Greer, Vernon, Big Lake. Maybe we should have a summer retreat to Greer for all the CW members at Bill's place. I spend most of my free time with my three boys and one girl. We are playing alot of baseball right now. We always get back up north during the 4th of July. We also go camping and fishing at Big Lake for a week or so. The rest of the time it's hunting, guiding ,scouting, checking new ranches in Mexico, anything to do with hunting. desertsheep
billrquimby Report post Posted March 30, 2006 Maybe we should have a summer retreat to Greer for all the CW members at Bill's place.desertsheep <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Desertsheep: We could set up a weekend outing sometime this summer. Our place has only one bedroom, but we could gather at Hoyer or Benny Creek and attack whatever lake is hot at the time. One proviso, Bullwidgeon must plan, coordinate and execute the thing. It can't be in July, because my grandson and I will be in Australia all that month. He wants to catch a barramundi and learn to play the didgeridoo; I want to see the penguins and do a bit of 'roo and boar control. Bill
