Guest 300ultramag. Report post Posted January 27, 2012 Just a heads up to the CWers. I was in the market for a high-end work boot that was of good quality and wouldnt break the bank. ''I was reffered to a JRs Shoes and Boots. I was blown away by this guys work ethic and his willingness to serve his customers. I dont know this guy from adam but I assure you he treated me in a way that I feel obligated to at least refer one person to his establishment. he is definietly from the age/era when Great customer service was the norm. After leaving JRs I took some business cards because I was really just taken back by his service. Today I got a hand written letter from the guy thanking me and etc. (keep in my I did had my Girlfriend in-tow) so maybe he was just churching-it up a bit for her but regardless, give him a thought next time your in the market for some boots. Maybe he would be a sponsor. not sure.. Thanks Beau
tjhunt2 Report post Posted January 28, 2012 Beau, He is the Real M'Coy. I have been buying boots from JR for years. I think he's in his 70's and always has a candybar waiting for ya. His store is a mess and his desk is cluttered with paper like you have never seen before but he knows where everything is. If you haven't bought shoes or boots from JR you are missing a treat. He told me he will never quit working. Everyone deserves to visit JR's. You will never forget him that's for sure. TJ
azslim Report post Posted January 28, 2012 I'd check him out if I knew where to go.
tjhunt2 Report post Posted January 28, 2012 JR's is in the shopping center of Val Vista & Baseline in Mesa. Most of the local city employees go to JR's for their work boots. I always walk away with a smile on my face. TJ
billrquimby Report post Posted January 28, 2012 Does he make boots, or just sell them? If he makes them to order, what do they cost? Bill Quimby
tjhunt2 Report post Posted January 28, 2012 No, he doesn't make them Bill. He just has a way of treating you special and you better not be in a hurry when you get there. He hardly has room for more than two people to sit down at one time to try on boots. He has got to tell ya a couple jokes after he gives ya a candybar or two. He usually throws in an extra set of shoe strings and a bottle of shoe oil. Most cities have a form that needs some information filled out and JR takes his good old time hand writing every bit of it. Nothing special about the boots, it's all about his personality that you'll never forget. Like 300ultramag said, you can expect a hand written thank you a week or two later. 300ultramag...........JR treats you the same no matter if you're alone or with someone. bustedknuckleinc Report post Posted January 28, 2012 I have also bought boots from Jr's shoes and boots and recieved the exact same service. If he felt that he didn't have EXACTLY what I wanted he would tell were to go to get it. I went in with my wife and two kids and the first thing he did was greet us and give us all Mr. Goodbars. I also got a thank you card in the mail.
