COOSEFAN Report post Posted March 26, 2006 Was anyone else at the AES banquet last night? It was crazy how many people were there this year, I was hoping to run into some CWT.com guys. The auction Elk tag went for $125,000.00 Thats alot of $ for elk and other wildlife here in AZ! The AES did a great job with their banquet this year. I did my part, mainly due to Capt. Morgan and his buddy Coke, I raised my hand during the auction for the Antelope hunt. I didn't even know what it was for other than the big screen said "Antelope Hunt". I thought I was getting in at the beginning of the auction when in reality I was throwing my bid up at the last call! Everyone thought it was funny except for my wife! She's not too happy. BUT, I'm goin' Antelope hunting in Montana My thought is that life is short, live it up as much as you can and enjoy it, don't let opportunities pass you by that you may look back on and regret not doing. I work hard for my $ and aside from my house payment, I'm debt free and I, unfortunately, have no children, so my responsibilities are few and my wife knows that, so she's actually very understanding when it comes to my ambitions and spending habits. It's just now she know's she's got me in the doghouse and can get whatever she wants, and she's filling out that list at this very moment JIM
az4life Report post Posted March 26, 2006 Jim Congratulations on your bid. I hope you have a good time on your hunt! Sounds like an expensive year! Maybe your wife will forgive you if you let her take trip to New York, San Fancisco or some other place for her shopping good tiime. Of course she might jsut make you sell your new toy to pay for the hunt!

COOSEFAN Report post Posted March 27, 2006 Thanks for the reply's. Az4life, You aint kiddin' about an "expensive year"! I have been saving to get the ride, but the AK hunt popped up and I couldn't pass and then last night............well..... I should not have raised my hand! But it's for a great cause and antelope tags are VERY hard to come by here! My wife just informed me her and the girls are going to Vegas in a month, I have no say in the matter!!!!!! Oh, and she wants me to pay for it!!!! "Yes dear, anything for you, my love". That was my answer of course! It's all good though, I just have to pick up some overtime. Deerslam, I would be in trouble if I drew a tag of any kind this year. I already don't know how I'm going to have time to work, I'm lucky though that I have some great guys that will work for me that I trust so I should be OK. Ernesto C, I don't know if it was excitement but more like " oh no, what I do?" I am excited though, just a lot of preparation ahead. I didn't research the details of the hunt prior to the auction, but found out later that I paid $500.00 more than if I just went up to the outfitter and booked a hunt. The hunt is $2500.00 for 5 days fully guided, lodging, travel, food etc. I think the hunt was 100% donation to AES so the $3,000.00 I paid is going straight to the Elk! That part makes me feel good. We are updating the website next week and I have close to 50 more photos to add and some new hunt packages as well, I'll let you know when it's up. I will probably start selling my videos on there also, and I have an elk hunt featured on "Extreme Bulls 3" by Steve Chappell, due out this summer. Exciting stuff! Thanks for checking it out. Whoops! Wife just got home, gotta go JIM

COOSEFAN Report post Posted March 28, 2006 you met a heck of a bull hunter in steve.do you hunt with him?mike <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes I did and, No I haven't. I would love to hunt with him one of these days, the chances are slim though because hunting season is the busiest time of year for both of us. He sends clients our way when he gets booked up which was a big help years ago when we first started. Steve has a deep passion for what he does and it shows in his videos and reputation. One of the nicest guys you'll ever meet! JIM
