eric Report post Posted March 25, 2006 time for the story behing the pic. god i love hunting stories. especially when there about hunts iv'e been on. this lion was killed early in january bowhunt in 1999. southern unit around patagonia. this lion took a carbon shaft, 100 grain broadhead between the eyes at 35 yards after being called in from 100 with a rabbit distress call. The broadhead lodged in the rear of the skull. Later on that day another stroke of luck, the same guy that shot the cougar, flung an arrow at a doe and double lunged a small buck that was about 10 yards behind it. I went back to the area for december 2005, saw a bear at 10 yards, a beautiful cinnamon and blonde color. No lion sign but the bear sign is thicker than i've ever seen anywhere in arizona. however, no tags are available in the unit for some time now. I didn't let an arrow go at any bucks but i did have 3 opportunities on 2 different bucks. I just couldn't get the crosshairs in position like i should have if i had done some more practice before the season. Good luck shed hunting in the next few weeks. and mucho gracias for the help posting this pic.
