azcouesfanatic Report post Posted January 23, 2012 Well my little brother Taylor has been my good luck charm this year. A week after I harvested a great coues deer with my bow I managed to harvest this Javelina. Saturday at 430am found Taylor and I headed out looking for pigs. The weather predicted 30-40mph winds by the afternoon so we were hoping the morning hunt would be good for us. My second pass over the mountain with my Swarovski 15x56's produced a heard of 10 javelina. The stalk was on. I left Taylor on the hill to keep an eye on the pigs and I took off. The pigs were on the move so I was trying to cut them off. They beat me to the intersection point and when I got there they had dropped down into the cut. I circled back around them and managed to get in front of the heard. I could hear pigs at less than ten yards but they were in some thick stuff. I tried to move so I could spot them and I busted the heard. The heard busted out and one pig stopped at 30 yards quartering away (big mistake). I sent my gold tip 5575 tipped with the new Ulmer Edge from trophy taker on its way from my Pulse. The arrow found its mark and it did some amazing damage. I have never seen such a hole. Sorry for the blood in the picture but there was not much I could do to clean it up. If you get a chance check out the Ulmer Edge at trophy taker.com. Hope you Enjoy Brian
Coach Report post Posted January 23, 2012 Nice job on the pig and nice write-up. There's a lot of buzz about these heads - So far, most of it is encouraging. They kind of look to me like a mix of a lot of earlier and exisiting designs, but who knows, maybe they bring together the best of several proven designs. They sure did a job on that pig of yours. Looks like you could set up spike camp in that entry wound.
