Red Rabbit Report post Posted January 8, 2012 With a new year upon us, it's a time to reflect on past events. So what was your best outdoor adventure of 2011? This does not necessarily have to be hunting, as it could have been a fishing, camping, scouting or hiking trip. What was it that made it your best adventure? Feel free to throw in a photo or two. firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted January 8, 2012 For me, thats an easy one! My brothers elk hunt. Starting from the opportunity for the hunt to be over within minutes of it starting, and then moments later getting my brother his first close quarters (less than 100 yards) of a SCREAMING bull and cows in thick cover. I'll never forget his excitement, as the kid doesnt get too excited for anything but he was pupmed after that. Also, driving to our spot in a early season blizzard, and pulling out a stuck truck, and then the next morning him, myself, my dad, my now fiance and her daughter following two trucks into the unit and us all hitting the same ice patches and getting loose. Then, Cory later in the day missing a couple of cows and thinking he was staying home that afternoon... Him deciding to not stay home that afternoon, shooting his cow (again, his excitement and pride level sky high) and then me making probably the biggest life changing decisions of my lifetime... Asking Sarah to marry me, and her accepting! That was definately the biggest/best adventure of my life, and one of if not the best day of my life. These pictures have been posted before, but I'll do it again.

firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted January 8, 2012 You should see her when shes dolled up.... Its a good thing I have a big....... Paycheck. Here we all are, the next night headed out to dinner/drinks to celebrate with my parents. We didn't tell my mom, we decided to let her notice the big asss, shiny diamond on Sarahs finger. Well, my mom never noticed to Sarah finally told her at about midnight that night. We went out to dinner the next night, and I teased Sarah about that being our engagement party! POB Report post Posted January 8, 2012 I'd have to say calling a big 6x6 bull into 40 yards at last light during the early bow hunt, and seeing the look on my sons face. I never got a shot because of the darkness. but still the best day of the season.
Coues Sniper Report post Posted January 8, 2012 Hahaha! Congrats again Casey. Very good things ahead for you two My best adventure is also an easy one to pick (and hopefully one you will experience soon Case) - the birth of my first huntin buddy! Easton Michael Kearney was born on February 18th of last year and has been a HUGE blessing to me and my wife ever since. He's crawling and pulling himself up on everything now and is going to be a TERROR once he sarts walking. Easy going and calm personality, but tons of energy. What follows is some on my favorites of the eleven-teen billion pictures we have taken Proud, but exhausted, parents My boy! Good looking kid Had a nasty case of RSV at 3 weeks. Spent a week in the hospital, on oxygen for 5 of those days! Scary time. TV, pacifier, hand on junk. Like father, like son! He got his looks from me as the wife obviously still has hers. Naked cowboy. Halloween One of our favorites I'll use some restraint and stop there. As a new father I could go all day with this. Good idea for a thread, I look forward to everyones posts! AZbowhntr Report post Posted January 8, 2012 It's hard to beat the new addition pictures. I remember the days vaguely. Just enjoy them while they last. Because they grow up and wreck your car when they turn 16 (speaking from recent experience). My highlight would have to be stalking my late season archery bull and actually closing the deal at 15 yds without him having a clue I was even in the same country. Never actually thought it would pan out. The moment before I shot the bull is something I will remember for the rest of my life.

Because they grow up and wreck your car when they turn 16 (speaking from recent experience). I have to laugh; I did the same thing to my dads truck when I was 16. Congrats on a great bull. He!! of a shot to finish him too
