Pine Donkey Report post Posted January 2, 2012 We all love this site and many of us spend a lot of of time on it. So many of our members have expertise in different areas, I am starting this post to acknowledge some of those members for their contributions. First is Amanda for creating the best hunting site on the web. This is not an easy task. She has to balance the interests, and emotions of members to promote an effective forum without allowing a few to blow it up. Red Rabbit. Doug has a real gift for photography. He openly shares this gift with us regularly. I often wonder if he has ever taken a bad picture? Chef. Hector is a wealth of information about cooking. He is not just a collection of recipes, but really understands the science behind the taste. Bill Quimby and Tony Mandile. These two have not only experienced decades of Arizona hunting, but they have recorded it and often share with all of us. They serve as the unofficial historians of this site. Lark. Some of the posts get pretty involved. Lark has the ability to state what many are saying in a way the rest of us can appreciate it. These are just a few of the havens of excellence on this site, I know there are many more. Please give recognition to them.
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted January 2, 2012 Thank you for this thread. I really do appreciate the many talented members we have that share their expertise. In addition to the excellent ones you mentioned, here are some others I think share their expertise and add significant depth to the forum. 308Nut with his very useful, technical and practical gun and ballistics info. Lazzeroni also did this for awhile but has backed off. JLB has provided us with some great info about calculating shot distance when there is a steep angle involved. He also donated some great items to give away to help forum members in this situation. Deernut (AGFD deer specialist Jim Heffelfinger) shares his depth of knowledge about our beloved deer. In the same vein, Bwakeling (AGFD big game branch chief Brian Wakeling) gets involved in some of the topics about deer management in AZ and provides great information for our members. WildHeritageTaxidermy and swwildlife provide some excellent answers to taxidermy questions. Also cvw789 provides info on cleaning skulls. JavaCowboy provides amazing programming experience that allows me to hold contests more often. Coosefan, Wards Outfitters, Lance and Tines (of TLO), and ExtremeCoues (aka Jeremy Ulmer -- with the help of Coues'n'Sheep) are some of the sponsors here that provide us with LOTS of pics of great animals to drool over. And they often share their amazing expertise to help all hunters improve. Kiliminjaro (aka Scottyboy) dazzles us with hunting adventures on other continents and has helped other members make an African dream hunt a reality. Lucky2hunt and DCS have also shared their amazing exploits with a bow in Africa. Grong and Antlerdog share their unmatched passion for antlers with us! Wildlife Callers and Dogman provide outstanding info on hunting lions. Echo Co, Headhunter, Apache7mm and rabidApache provide us with some great trophies from the San Carlos and White Mtn Reservations. Several people host CW.com gatherings at their homes or at Marshall Lake....Antlerdog (allows people to drool over his awesome antler collection at his house), TJhunt2 (hosted the CW Christmas party), Lance (Marshall Lake gathering hosted for years now). These gatherings help add to the sense of community in this forum. Many other forum members go to great lengths to share their hunting/outdoor adventures through photo essays and stories...a few that do it regularly and with some great photos include: Pixman, Standman, azcouesfanatic, Scott Adams, AZP&Y, Ron G (with the help of amazing photos by jay woods), Gr8 White Jr and Girlygirl Hunter, and I could go on and on...it's just too long a list. Lots of members go out of their way to help others be successful....azpackhorse, willhunt4coues, bonecollector, scott adams, tjhunt2, ernestoC, matthewp45, and so many more. I really love the way this forum provides a community where hunters help other hunters be successful. The more I start listing, the more I realize there are too many people to thank and so I will cut it off here for now. We have so many members that help support this site in many ways such as serving as moderators, helping with contests, being supportive of other peoples hunting stories, and also those who sport a sticker or make a donation to help support the site. The list is huge. Anyway, I really do appreciate the amazing contributions and talents within the members of this forum. THANK YOU!

Elkhunter1 Report post Posted January 3, 2012 I truly believe we all should bow our heads to each other as we all have helped one another in some way, But Amanda and all the guys that help with the site and the get togethers deserve a second and third bow for their tiering devotion to our way of life. Chef Report post Posted January 4, 2012 I am with everyone when I say we definitely have the greatest hunting community on the web. I can't begin to count the friendships I've made and hunting partners I now have thanks to this site. I really enjoy the genuine contributions made by members giving advice and encouragement. I think this past season was one of the best ever for the youth forum, all with great trophies and many first time hunter successes. I think it's great that we are all on board to encourage and give a hand to those that are new and very interested in our hunting heritage. I also really appreciate all the successes shared in the forums. It's so easy to keep things under wraps for only a select few to enjoy. I know it's tough to decide to show off your trophy in fear of being scrutinized and picked apart. I hope that those who have decided to take the leap, have found this group of people to be thankful and appreciative. I know I have become a better hunter because of this site and what it has brought to the table. Advice handed down from experienced hands is common to find here, as are opportunities to enjoy the outdoors with those that give it. I can attest to that. I couldn't begin to name members in fear of forgetting too many. Everyone that has a passion for the outdoors and takes the time to stop and take a picture for us to enjoy, has my gratitude. I know how tough it can be at times but if you are like me, the desire to share with others outweighs the need to rush without thinking of the forums. Thanks for starting this thread. That in itself shows the quality people we get to share our lives with.
