There is so little pressure in this area and the genetics are so good I think I might let him get bigger. Don't get me wrong, I shot a spike meat buck during the early hunt so I have no problem shooting for meat. This buck is thick but he's really not that old. He's short but pretty heavy. He has the potential to something special and that's probably why I wouldn't take him. right on. ya if you shot one during the early hunt, i would definately hold off a few more days.
