azhuntnut Report post Posted March 7, 2006 This picture was sent to me by Apache7mm. He told me his uncle(a tribal guide) was out scouting for deer on the San Carlos Rez, when he saw three lions walking around. He was only able to get two into the picture. I am hunting over there in two weeks for lion. Hopefully I have good luck finding them. David
crotalus Report post Posted March 7, 2006 Wow, how close was he? Do you have any other details. That photo sure looks close or he has a super set of optics. Good luck to you on your hunt. Anyone else noticing how many lion post are going up. No freak'in wonder I saw one deer and no pigs last week. Ernest

COOSEFAN Report post Posted March 8, 2006 There's something about that place! On three separate occasions I've seen 3 lions runnin together, and all were adult size! Almost every other time it was a pair runnin together. I saw 9 lions in just a couple of trips bear hunting and duck hunting in just a few months time! Out of a group of 5 bear hunters we killed 3 lions in one hunt and the year after killed 2, one that was watching us pack out a bear not 15 yrds off the trail we were walking out on! That place is amazing, everything there is huge, plentiful, can eat you, bite you or sting you! You have a great shot at tagging a cat but watch out for the 6 foot rattlesnakes that should be coming out soon! Good luck David! JIM
azcouesandelk Report post Posted March 8, 2006 Man that is the amount of lions I have seen in my lifetime in that picture. Actually no I have seen 3 lions but still I have never seen 2 or 3 at a time. Coosefan congrats on the successful lion hunts even though you were bear hunting. Better than nothing

GRONG Report post Posted March 8, 2006 Dude that's a bad butt picture! Casey, male lions don't have external genitals like you'd see on a tom housecat. Males have a black dot where their peter is and you can barely feel their boys under the skin. I've seen people post pictures of tom lions before and they're claiming that the lion was a female and well over 100lbs. That just doesn't happen, at least not in AZ....too often.
