I've seen some really bad looking heads but these are awesome looking birds. Good job! :)

i send the heads off to get freeze dried, and then thay are just airbrushed for the color. You can also use artificial heads, but i personally prefer the freeze dried ones. If you dont know the difference they all look good, if you do know the difference, then the freeze dried look better :) IMO

 

 

Those heads look awesome. Just wondering what process you use to do those? Great job on the mounts they look great.

I have never had a turkey mounted. What steps need to be taken after shooting a bird inorder to best preserve it for the taxidermist ?

I figure they must be freeze dried. I had a big eastern mounted about five years ago and went with a replica and regret it every time I see a freeze dried head. I guess I know which route I will definitely will be going when I get my next bird mounted. Hopefully it will be a big merriams in full strut.
