metau Report post Posted December 18, 2011 Maybe I'm missing something, but isn't 15k for 6 people only $2500 per hunter? And at 12k only $2000 per hunter? I have a coworker who does this every year with some long time friends of his for about the same. I think it actually sounds like a chance for a great time with some good friends if you got 5 buddies who can afford it too. Just sayin'......
yotebuster Report post Posted December 18, 2011 $15k each... and they take six hunters.... $90,000. I'm pretty sure you can buy 5500 acres in mexico for $90k.
firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted December 18, 2011 I really fought replying to this thread, but I gotta say, fifteen-thousand dollars for a maybe 50% trophy hunt... Well, maybe if I were a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills would I consider a 12K hunt that I might connect on a wall hanger a bargain, or “discount” hunt. Honestly, that’s the kind of money people budget for an African hunt of a lifetime, and far more than a family Alaskan adventure. And since we have 190” mule deer and 110+" coues deer in pretty much every unit in Arizona if you really work at it, that we can hunt for the price of a license and OTC archery tag, I can relate to the replies so far. I’m not trying to be disrespectful, I’m sure this hunt would be a memorable experience. But the kind of guys that can plop down $15K every year for one hunt and might or might not get the deer they are after have a completely different perspective of money than I do. I paid less than 15000 for my africa trip all inclusive..... Taxidermy and airfare included!!!

123456 Report post Posted December 19, 2011 You guys sound like a bunch of Obamamites. Hate the successful, they cause all the problems. +2. If you don't have the money then shut up and don't give a smart butt comment. Blame the guy who worked his butt off to make something and complain b/c he spends his money on hunting. WAHHHHHHHHH. Vote for Obama in 2012 and maybe the guy who posted this hunt will pay for your medical or living expenses. If the hunt is too expensive then don't respond. soazarcher Report post Posted December 19, 2011 Lots of BS getting tossed around! I have no ties to this post, but I can't help myself. That is what it costs to do this hunt, plain and simple. If you don't like it, you definitely have the option to not go. I'm sure we could sit around all day and name cheaper hunts or other things you could do with 15k. And to correct some of these ridiculous numbers being thrown around, coues will cost 3500-6500 and mule deer in the 9000-15000 range. This doesn't sound like a DIY, buy some tags and hunt with your buddies type deal. And, yes, I know that you can do that for much cheaper. Or you could take your chances with a cheaper outfitter. Good luck selling your Mexico hunts! Post pics when you get back.

Good luck selling your Mexico hunts! Post pics when you get back. +1, also, I have no ties to this post. To re-iterate, typically a fully outfitted Mule Deer hunt on a quality ranch is around $10K. Also, a fully outfitted Coues hunt will average around $4K. You can get cheaper prices if you DIY or negotiate less accomodations. I've seen combo Muley/Coues hunts go for $16,500.00 on high quality proven ranches and they had no problem booking hunters! Fortunately for american hunters, most of the outfitters and ranch owners in Mexico have realized the economic situation we've all been dealing with and most have dropped their prices accordingly. But even with dropped prices, $3,500 for Coues and $7,500 for Muley is the norm and I'd be worried if I paid less than that for a fully outfitted/guided hunt! tylerwcs Report post Posted December 19, 2011 I have the opportunity to sell my mule deer and coues deer hunt in Sonora, Mexico. You can book anytime in late December or January, during the rut. 1 on 1 guide service. Airport pick up and drop off. Gun permit. Private driver. No hassles. 1 to 6 openings available. I booked a group trip but several guys had to drop out, so we are canceling our trip this year. This is a one week (7 day) hunt, all inclusive. Meals, lodging, transportation are included. This is a SAFE hunt only 65 miles from the Hermosillo airport. You are welcome to drive to the ranch yourself or fly in and be picked up. The outfitter will handle all paperwork and clear your gun, no problem. Hunt price is discounted from $15k to $12k. Coues deer are on the ranch and available for a $2k trophy fee. Free javelina. This is an authentic Sonoran hunt, free range animals, 100% fair chase. The hunt will be tailored to your specifications, hunt hard or take it easy. Mule deer taken on the ranch score 170 - 190+. You can shoot any deer you prefer, this is not a price by the inch arrangement. I believe the ranch is over 15,000 acres. Spend each night in the ranch house with full amenities and great food. I am selling this hunt privately to re-coupe my deposit. I have going to Sonora for over 15 years, hunting and working on most every ranch in Sonora. This ranch is not over-hunted and a very good deal. It is a family owned ranch looking to cover their operating costs. This is NOT a commercial hunting operation, I am a friend of the family and the ranch has received very little hunting pressure, ever. They take 3 to 5 bucks per year. It's a great opportunity to hunt big mule deer with a good opportunity to take a 100" coues. I regret having to bow out this year. Contact me for more information and photos. tylerwcs Report post Posted December 19, 2011 I don't know how this forum works. I hope I'm not replying to the wrong user. But to the guy that sent me an email about the value of a dollar... you should have fought your temptation a little harder. I don't care about your opinion. Hunt prices are charged at market value. Some people pay $300k for a desert sheep hunt. Do I? No. I don't have that kind of money. I understand that $12k is a lot of money. But as I stated, I don't make a lot of money and I live in arizona and hunt a lot. I know what is here if you're willing to work for it. Some people don't mind spending this kind of money for a quality hunt. If you don't want to... don't. Hunting is a life style, not an accomplishment. I'm trying to pass along an insider deal, as I have worked in the country for many years and am a friend of the family. Please don't bother me or any of the other members with your meaningless input.
