j-rod Report post Posted March 2, 2006 Here are some pics from our Rifle hunt this past weekend. Great hunt and lots-o-pigs. We went 4 for 4 in two days and were able to relax on Sunday. Also wanted to give big props to AZ Game and Fish Wildlife Manager Mike Hollister. Heck of a stand up fella. He stopped by camp to check a couple of our javies and really had a lot of useful information. We didnt have trouble finding the pigs but he offered up that info anyway. We talked for quite a while about coues, pigs and elk and chatted about past hunts. We spoke a bit about the changes in hunt structures and how it affects us all. He knows his unit and his game numbers and really is trying to keep things managed on a wildlife basis and NOT on a monetary basis. Its guys like Mike that we really need to keep in the G&F and I for one really appreciate all he does for the hunter!

Mike Hollister is a heck of a guy, i have been on a ride along with him and seeing how excited he got when we saw a doe and a fawn was awesome! like you said, he truely cares about his unit! that being said, i would be willing to bet, you were in 36b
stanley Report post Posted March 2, 2006 Kudos on the pigs!!!! Were you in 'B' or 'C'? Regarding Hollister, yea he's a good guy alright. You all should head down for the ranch clean-up next weekend. We'll be sharing a camp & telling stories with Mike and some others around the campfire I'm sure... S.
