creed_az_88 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 my dad picked up a 300 h&h for $180 the other day. real good deal. a couple friends looked at it and said that the scope was worth quite a bit of money. The scope is a pre 60's weaver with the reticle adjustment on the mounts. I was wondering if any of you guys had any input on the scope. Its in great condition but im not sure what power it is. I can check though. creed
.270 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 might be worth something to a collector of scopes, but they aren't a real good optic, compared to todays stuff. i assume it has beuhler mounts? sounds like it. that really is a pretty good way to go, but most folks had a real hard time figuring em out. having the adjustments as part of the scope are a lot easier for most folks. but the old straight tube scopes had a lot less places to fail. is it a fixed power? what x is it? $180 for an h&h sounds like a good deal. what kind of rifle is it? Lark.
Benbrown Report post Posted March 1, 2006 Early Weaver scopes made in El Paso are quite collectable. I would start with a post at www.24hourcampfire.com in the Optics section--describe the scope in as much detail as you can and request estimates of its value. Good luck!
