BASS Report post Posted December 7, 2011 Anyone have one of these? I'm in the market for a "new" bow and recently pulled one of these babies back, it just felt perfect in my hands. It wasn't set up exactly for me, but was pret-dang close. I liked how it didn't have creep like the Diamond Edge and Outlaw (been told they are close to the same but single cam). Seems like a dang good deal for $500 for a bow that, while may not come with top of the line accessories, is ready to go a field and they can be set aside in case of emergency. I shot a Diamond Edge today didn't care for it at all. Had it at full draw and the creep was driving me nuts. As soon as I relaxed a little for the shot I would feel it starting to roll back over. In fact I put a brand new arrow into a brick wall missing the target by about a foot. Anyone know of a shop locally who has them in stock?

When I bought a new bow this last season I shot the Assassin and was really impressed for the price. I ended up with the Bowtech Invasion though.
BASS Report post Posted December 7, 2011 What made you choose the Invasion? Im pretty much considering the bow as a bare bow as most of the accessories will be replaced with different ones that I like better.

The Outlaw and the Assassin ended up as my top two choices for a bow. I shot them side by side at 2 stores and I preferred the Outlaw. The arrow rest wore out very quickly though (I was putting a few hundred arrows through it a week)and I couldn't group past 40 yards with the rest. This is the same rest as the Assassin if I'm not mistaken. After I updated to a trophy taker drop away rest I can group at 70 yards with the bow on my good days. I love my Outlaw but I'm sure the Assassin is just as good. Replace the rest ASAP though! I know there are a few Bowtech/Diamond Dealers in town, but I used Broken Arrow in Apache Junction with good results. Good luck!

It is harder to get to drop over into the valley but not bad enough to make me give it any thought. I couldn't be happier with the bow even though the price tag is quite a bit higher than the Assassin.
BASS Report post Posted December 7, 2011 Yeah I figured the rest would be replaced after pig season if not sooner. I had a whisker biscuit when they first came out a few years back. Loved the security, but hated how they tore up fletchings, and cost accuracy. Does your Outlaw have an aggressive valley at full draw? I also noticed a guy shooting another Edge today was have a lot of problems with his anchor being jerked forward at full draw so I know it wasn't just me with that issue. Thanks for the tips guys, I appreciate the input!

I don't notice any creep and I'm pulling 70#. But I haven't shot many higher end bows that people say don't creep.
izquik72 Report post Posted December 7, 2011 I just picked up an Assasin. I was shooting a 10 yr old Reflex excusion cam & half. I am very impressed with this bow and could not find any bad reviews on it. Some accesories need replaced and you need to locktite the cable guide bar set screw. Hopefully there will be a success photo by end of Dec.

A family member who really only buys the best has passed off a Darton Avalanche for one of these. Now I'm now saying they are better than any other bow, but for someone who has always shot higher end bows and still has access to them he must have saw something he liken in a $500 "kit bow" I think. Best of luck to you this season!
almost Report post Posted March 19, 2012 I got an asassin for christmas last year and killed my first deer with it in jan. needless to say I really like it. I put a vapor trail limb driver rest and a spot hog real deal on it so far. The bow is definitely more accurate than I am and 100% reliable, other than the peep turning a little the bow has stayed tuned. If I don't get drawn for elk I will prob look at higher end bows this year but they will have to be pretty special for me to give up the asassin. Good luck
Ross Outdoors Report post Posted March 21, 2012 We just got them in stock yesterday, I shot it today in the shop and was very impressed. It seems like a great bow for the price. Feel free to come down and test one! -Josiah
