firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted December 2, 2011 Looking for something reliable to hunt from. The 07 Dodge 2500 beats the heck out of me and all passengers! Not looking for something expensive. Possibly a early 90's toyota?! Let me know.
elkster9 Report post Posted December 2, 2011 I'll be selling my wifes 2001 Toyota 4-Runner 4x4, V6, for $7k probably next month. It has 156000 miles on it and is completely stock. Not sure if that will fit what your looking for or not.
firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted December 2, 2011 That would be great, just out of what Im looking to spend. Prefer a truck, but a 4runner would do if it already had all terrain tires and possibly a slight suspension lift.

azhuntnut Report post Posted December 2, 2011 Casey, I bought a 99 Suzuki Grand Vitara 4dr back in June and proceded to put a small lift, shocks, struts, and a basic tune up on it. So far this has been one of the best vehicles I have bought. I actually use it to drive all over the state to my hunting area and then drive it offroad while I am there. I have put about 14k on since I bought it, and would buy another in a heart beat. It just turned 145k the other day, and I don't think it will stop soon. It goes through some of the thickest mud and most any terrain. It even has a 160hp V-6 with auto and all the bells and whistles. If you watch craigslist, you might be able to find a decent one for a good price. I call it my Huntin Hooptie. I have only put about 150 miles on my duramax since I bought it. ZJARCHER Report post Posted December 2, 2011 Ever consider getting some suspension work done to the truck? I've got an 05 Cummins Ram with Carli suspension under it (coils, leafs, control arms, ball joints, king 2.5s specifically valved for the truck, and a few other suspension goodies) and its amazing the difference it made in control in the dirt! Granted, I'm still shopping for a Polaris Ranger due to the size/weightof the truck...
firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted December 2, 2011 I wouldnt be against that, but this is something Id like to have for a while, and the suspension goes away when the truck is sold.... We have two quads, but I'd like to have something I can load a few items of gear in, buy a pop up trailer and go!
Coach Report post Posted December 2, 2011 I'm sitting on an 88 Toyo extra cab. It's a V6 with Detroit Lockers, sunroof and a camper shell. The motor needs work, probably a full rebuild (around $2K unless you know how to work on the Toyo v6 yourself), new muffler etc, body work to make it look sharp. My inlaws gave it to me for my boys but I'm not sure how much cash and time I want to put back into it. I did one toyo rebuild - every nut bolt and clip, and I'm not looking forward to another. LOL. I can send pix if you are interested. It's a fantastic truck, been on pretty much every road, jeep trial and mining-two track in AZ, Western NM and then some in UT, NV and CO. When the motor is back to tip-top shape, it will be an awesome rig. I'm just not sure how much time and money I'm willing to put into it. I can get better details on the engine work needed - let me know. If you want a "turnkey" truck, there was a GMC Jimmy on the classifieds not long ago. Looked like a heck of a truck for $7k. firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted December 2, 2011 Yeah, I saw the jimmy. Quite a bit more than I'm looking to spend. I'm in the $4,000 range.
