andygrand Report post Posted December 1, 2011 I got this tag because I was going to go hunting with a friend. After I already put in for the tag, I found out that my friend hunts with family that doesn't take kids and drives around in ATV's as their main method of hunting. Not my cup of tea, plus I won't go on a hunting trip without my son. So with that being said...I am now the owner of a tag in a unit I know nothing about. Not looking for a honey hole or specific directions, but if anyone has some general starting points that would be awesome. I have the HAM hunt.
stanley Report post Posted December 1, 2011 My suggestion would be to join-up and volunteer to help at the 20C Junior Javelina camp that is held every year! I think that hunt is the last weekend in January. Look at the AZ G&F website for details, as I think it will be listed there. Or do a Google search of "Youth Outdoors Unlimited". They are sponsoring and have a facebook page. There is a good group of folks who sponsor the annual youth javelina hunt there. If you go up there and volunteer to help-out around camp, or glassing for kids, or what ever, I know you'll get some valuable knowledge and/or tips that will help you on your hunt! Good luck! S. azslim Report post Posted December 1, 2011 Sunflower Valley.....and hook up with the kids camp, it used to stage at the N end of the valley. You can take your son out and learn some of the country and habits, then go back when your tag is good. G&F should be able to tell you when/where the camp is.
