Buck Smasher Report post Posted December 8, 2011 Just was wondering if anybody had any luck in rattling coues deer?? If so were they mature bucks or younger ones?? What was your method?? I have had only luck using a doe bleat. My father has as well. He called in two bucks within minutes of a doe bleat. I have used a doe bleat before and caused two bucks to get into a fight . Buck Smasher Report post Posted December 8, 2011 Just was wondering if anybody had any luck in rattling coues deer?? If so were they mature bucks or younger ones?? What was your method?? My buddy rattles and said that it works great for him. Usually rut hit within a few days before January 1st or a little after. That has been what I have seen for the last 4 years. Anytime around those dates depending on when your unit allows you to hunt I would rattle. I prefer Doe Bleats to be honest. those coues deer are horny little ghosts and don't be surprised to see a spike come in your area and then a bigger buck behind him.
