dtresca Report post Posted November 22, 2011 I'm just getting into coyote hunting and I'm curious if anyone on this site has used any of the various coyote call apps out there for Android. Seems like a cool idea, just wondering if anyone has had any luck. If so, which ones work. I'm sure I'll end up downloading all of them anyway. Kind of a geek that way... Jimmer Negamanee Report post Posted November 23, 2011 Never tried it. But I do know a guy who called a bull elk in with his Android elk call app. Even it it doesn't work you can probably use them for unique ringtones. "Honey, your phone's ringing." "Yeah, don't worry, it's just my brother, I gave him the Lightening Jack ring tone so I'll know it's him." "Are you sure it's not your dad?" "Yeah, he's fawn in distress." It would be an upgrade to my brother's current ringtone: the Soul Glow them song from Coming to America. His well-timed calls have created some very interesting situations! Scooter Report post Posted November 28, 2011 I have those for my iPOD Touch 4th gen and they sound pretty good when hooked to my external speaker set-up... but I normally use an old 2GB Phillips mp3 player. That way I can just use the available sequences or make my own sequences off of varmint al's website... With the apps it's harder to put together the sequences and have them run the right way. Thanks for the info. You would think they would have a way to set up sequences. Maybe in a future upgrade?

Scooter Report post Posted November 29, 2011 Shot a coyote on Thanksgiving day using Varmit Al's 16 minute excrutiator sequence... only took 8 minutes. That's 2 minutes of silence before the first sound, then a minute of the excrutiator, then 2 minutes of silence, then another minute or so of the excrutiator. Shot that coyote at 30 yards during the subsequent 2 minutes of silence... I will post the pic and story so you can see my set-up.
