GRONG

Big 122" NT buck from 22

Recommended Posts

Now that's impressive, character galore is right. He surely looks like one of a kind. Bummer his sheds were bigger last year, I wouldn't have expected that with all of the rain and feed we had last spring. Over-the-hill buck? Thanks posting the pics Josh!

When you say the "auction hunter" are you talking like the govenors tag?  That guide should be a hot item next year.....serves all you guides right....you work so dang hard!

I'd love to see some shed pics as well.  Thanks for posting Josh, Coues n' Sheep thanks for the scoop!

The Auction/ Govenor tag was brought in by someone else....they tried to get him before the rifle hunt and could not connect. A local guide who also new of the buck took his client in there and nailed him. A very old deer... very small body.... I heard the buck looked like he would score much higher on the hoof.... body size accounted for some ground shrinkage....I don't think the words "ground shrinkage" can really be applied :D .....but who gives a rip what he scores, that is a wicked cool buck! :D

Can't say enough about that buck.

Gorgeous headgear.

That bulb on his R/F knee is probably another wicked main beam trying to get out!

That is great news, because I hunt by the rock, by the bush, by the tree.

That is a great buck, congrats to the hunter.

What a buck! Here is a couple live shots of that buck the day it was shot. Glassed him up and snapped a few shots before the rifle hunter made a great shot across the canyon. I had a bow in my hand and a tag in my pocket, but just couldn't compete with that long range thunder stick! Awesome sight though.... better than watching the outdoor channel....
