cflores Report post Posted November 14, 2011 I just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to all of CWT family. Many people offered rifles and equipment for my daughter and I after the burglary at my house for our upcoming hunts. It was great to see that kind of out pouring of support and love from people that have never met me or my daughter. That shows that we have a strong and common bond, family, hunting and spending time in the outdoors along with many other important traits .A friend brought by some equipement for us to use until we get the insurance stuff settled( 15-30 days), way after our hunts are over.I will try and keep evryone up to date on insurtance issues with weapons and personal hunting items, so that evrybody can cover themselves in situations like these. The fact that so many people were willing to help out someone that they dont even know, gives me a renewed faith in society still. Thank you and may the Good Lord Bless all of you. elk77hunter Report post Posted November 14, 2011 I had this happen to me less than a month ago. Got all my stuff too so i know how you feel. Its horrible and makes you feel like giving up...someone taking all your hard earned goods. I had the kaibabs as well. All in all i got hit for 15K. Insurance didn't cover it so i'm really out. ON the bright side, they left my dog alone and everyone is safe. material things can be replaced... How did they get in your house?

cflores Report post Posted November 16, 2011 So a quik update on the insurance issue. They say the will only give me $500 dollars towards weapons , which I am going to fight. They are not interpeting my policy as I read it! . I sure wish I could find more reciepts for all my stuff that was stolen, example of reciepts needed: Taurus 357, ALL the stuff that was in my back pack, knives, flashlights, head lamp, etc..... everything and anything that would be carried in a back pack, Vortex Kaibabs 15x56, and Acer desk top home computer, the rest I found all the reciepts for. Message me, or call me if you guys have any thoughts on how to fix this issue. I need to recover all that was lost just to replace it. Thanks, CWT family. Carlos 520-241-2893. bonecollector Report post Posted November 16, 2011 I might have a receipt for the kaibabs.
gotcoues Report post Posted November 16, 2011 Pictures with items in the field will also work. Just keep fighting, they are most likely just trying to keep the claim low for their best interests. If you keep up the good fight, you'll get what's fair. Insurance companys are such a rip off. Pay them for years and years and then they try and short change you when it's time to collect on your policy. It's happened to me and one of my good friends. rugermack Report post Posted November 16, 2011 I added extra insurance for my guns to my policy. If I were you I would think about a good quality, heavy gun safe.

You should be able to get receipts for any of that stuff you bought with a debit or credit card.

AZLance Report post Posted November 16, 2011 Everyone needs to be careful with their home owners insurance. Most have limits they will pay on firearms. With state farm I had to purchase a special rider to cover firearms losses over $3500.00 to it was actually pretty cheap, but now I am covered to $25,
AZLance Report post Posted November 16, 2011 Never heard what kind of gun safe you had?? There are a couple that popped up on crags list recently...
