Gross or Net?????

Recommended Posts

If you feel the need to "score" an animal, I believe what Chef said "if the animal grew it, give it all the credit. Gross score rules!" The "score" is a record of the animal, not a score of the hunter.....

a large number of today's bowhunters favor the bigger number which is gross score. I personally know more than a dozen bowhunters who will never enter anything in the record book because they do not care for the net score.

And I thought it was all about the animal. What was I thinking?

I think you will probably see P&Y do what B&C has done in their record book and that is to also show the gross score for all of those hunters that need to "see" the larger score recognized.

I don't need a score to know if an animal is big or not. But I do think using a score is a good point of reference when discussing antler size with others. To some a big buck is 90" and to others it's 120" but if I say there is a 110" buck standing on the hill we have a pretty good common understanding of the bucks size.
