CouesFanatic Report post Posted November 10, 2011 Good bucks, next time take some pics that don't show exactly where you went, or just don't post them. bobbyo Report post Posted November 10, 2011 That area looks familiar. Sounds like a great hunt with great deer. Congratulations, it looks like you guys had a great time. That is the kind of hunting that I usually do, it is fun but a lot of hard work. I like to see the external frame packs in action. They are the only way to comfortably backpack hunt and carry heavy loads. They are FAR superior to an internal frame pack for anything over 50 pounds. If you need/want any advice on gear to lighten the load, just ask me. I had my pack weight down at 45 pounds this year including the spotting scope, tripod and large internal frame daypack for comfortably carrying the aforementioned items. I would love it if you could post your gear list and brand on another thread. I think my set up of rifle binocs, tripod, packs and hunting gear is close to 45 pounds without anything else. You may have noticed I didnt mention the unit or area.........by the way its a large state I highly doubt you happened to be on one of the mountains pictured. CouesFanatic Report post Posted November 11, 2011 Ive spent 16 nights there between this year and last. I'm headed back in two weeks for another 7 days. I know the area extensively. I heard you shooting opening day. Believe me, your pics are a dead giveaway. I saw your tents from up top above the cliff. Saw the two trucks parked at the trailhead. I saw your names in the book with the 3x3 whitetail written in. Did you see the grey tundra, or how about the red tacoma in there. Or maybe the lifted silverado on 40s? You can highly doubt all you want, but you better expect more people to be in there next year, you already have bobbyo knowing where this is at also. Nice having the towers in the pic, as if it isn't obvious enough.

I'll be going on my first back pack hunt next year in pursuit of a monster coues! Very cool deal guys, congrats!
