I have been looking at that camera since last summer. But I don't know if I will spend the money.

It would depend on your setup. For example, If you were hunting a salt plot that had does coming in and on wednesday morning you start getting instant pictures of bucks hanging around a doe in estrus that regulary hits that salt, call in sick and you have yourself a guaranteed buck. It could also predict the rut phases and intensity w/out driving out to your spot.

 

Not a complete give-a-way but getting a little close to it.

I would like to have one for the times they shut down the forest though.

 

One time I had a cam out and the USFS shut down the Coconino. It wasn't too far from the paved road, so I had my wife stop and drop me off while went in to get it, then she drove back by a little later and picked me up.

If you set up the solar panel, in theory the camera would pay for the extra costs versus other cameras. The gas alone on some of my set ups are about $50 a trip.

On the other hand I don't get good cell service in most of my areas.

Camera sounds like a sweet new product to me, too bad Christmas and my birthday just passed!!

All right, all right. I would really love one of them cameras, I just have to downplay it since it is over my budget.

Ernesto gave me some advice the other day. You would need to buy two. One for the field and one for home. That way when your home, you know what's going on in the field. And when you are in the field, you know what's happening at home.

Also, for those that work behind a computer all day or have a cellphone that can send and receive pictures. Just think when a thief went up to take the camera. I know all the places I put mine up are less than an hour from work and there is only one way in. Get an email with-in minutes showing the guy trying to take it, jump in the truck on off I go. Will easily make it to the road before the guy drives out. What a sweet thing that would be.

Imagine what a lion hunter with hounds could do with this.... Get a e-mail and a few minutes later got the hounds loaded and headin out after a fresh track SWEEET

The line is starting to get fuzzy between technology and ethics. We should not have to defend our choice to hunt and how to hunt but where do we draw the line?
