couestaxi Report post Posted February 14, 2006 There is a bill in the State Senate that may impact hunters using food plots, wildlife feeders, salt licks etc. , there are several others pending including the following - some good some bad - S1438: UNLAWFUL FEEDING OF WILDLIFE A person commits unlawful feeding of wildlife, a class 3 misdemeanor, by intentionally or recklessly feeding, attracting or otherwise enticing wildlife into an area, with exceptions for public employees performing their lawful duties and normal agricultural or livestock operations. JVS Report post Posted February 14, 2006 S1488: HUNTERS CROSSING PRIVATE PROPERTY It's about time. Sad though, how is Tapia going to get her son out of the slammer?
KGAINES Report post Posted February 14, 2006 Tapia could be in more trouble too when she gets caught tossing the skittles to her son, because child molestors are wildlife in my book and I am glad they have him in a cage.
DesertBull Report post Posted February 14, 2006 It just says that they cannot charge a fee. It says nothing about them locking the gate.

As far as feeding and attracting wildlife into an area, maybe is it not criminal if you are just grouping them up when they already live in the genral vicinity. Interpretation... It depends on what the meaning of IS , IS...
billrquimby Report post Posted February 15, 2006 S1438: UNLAWFUL FEEDING OF WILDLIFE Dear Abby: The politicians in our state want to pass a law that would make it illegal to put food out to attract wild animals. I buy a salt block every year and put out a couple of big sacks of corn every month for the starving squirrels and blue jays at my cabin in Arizona's high country. I don't want to break the law, Abby, so please tell me how I can keep the deer away? In a quandry in Greer, BillQ
KGAINES Report post Posted February 15, 2006 Bill I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but abby is dead. I don't really know if that bill will pass, all of the senators that hunt probably are used to the corn flingers and food plots, they don't have time to actually spend time in the field scouting and hunting, they just want to know when the deer they are going to shoot will be there. Just to be politically correct this is pure speculation on my part, as I am sure there are a few senators that do hunt harder than some.

I have the bills here and they are almost identical. The law is in place already??

JVS Report post Posted February 15, 2006 Tapia was charging a fee. I'm not sure if anyone took her up on the offer? She said she would donate all the money to a molestor fund or something to that effect. If we take away her "right" to charge a fee, she might give in and open up the gate...but I really doubt it. She'll probably keep it closed because she can, or should I say because she gets away with it!
