new member here!! looking for a great Leica tripod option.

buddy had a ring clamped around his geovids.

 

i just bought some ultravids 50's today. totally excited. is his unit the outdoorsman? any other options?

cant find a clear part perfect for the 50mm objectives.

 

any help?

 

you guys liking that badlands bino pouch?

Outdoorsman's has both the ring mount and the stud mount types, which requires the adapter as well. I see these in their magazine, Western Hunter. They can set you up if you call. I think you can find them on their website too. Due to cost, I use a $20 adapter made of a poly/plastic (?) and velcro. It has served me well for several years. The velcro loops over the objectives and snugs down. The flat platform can also be used as a shooting rest.

I have the older, heavier Leica Trinovids 12x50, and the Badlands Bino pouch works great for them. They fit perfect...any bigger, they wouldn't fit. My binos stay clean the entire hunt. Especially good if you're riding dusty roads.

you should also contact jim white of uni-daptor i beleive he also has the tri-pod mounts for the leica, he machines them and everything he has is top notch product and he also has some of the best customer service i have ever seen!

The Jim White set up is basically the same as the Outdoorsmans set up, just quite a bit cheaper. Its what I use on my Duovids
