4Falls Report post Posted October 28, 2011 Due to work commitments the October Coues deer season came to an end a little early for me. We hiked and glassed our butts off but weren't able to connect on a buck. Lots of deer were seen, even a couple decent bucks, but thats how it goes. A couple of highlights were the two Rocky sheep I glassed up on Saturday morning and the lion skull that Skeeter found on Wednesday morning. Loved being back in 6a again and especially hunting with my great friend. Any other 6a guys who had some luck? I heard the shooting, someone had to have killed one. 4Falls Report post Posted October 29, 2011 Congratulations db. We talked to a few guys during the hunt and most weren't seeing any deer at all so we counted ourselves lucky to see as many as we did. We missed one and another just refused to give me a good shot.

Antmo23 Report post Posted November 10, 2011 It was a rough one this year for whatever reason... The bucks we were watching disappeared on us like only a coues can. I ended up shooting a spike on wednesday and 2 of my buddies each got 2x3's with 2 hours of light left on the last day! (why does it always seem to happen like that?) Not sure where the bucks were this year? plus the temps were up that's the only thing I can think of they just never really moved like they usually do? definitely not the same as other years

We found em bedded early and staying bedded till after dark. Not an easy year for that hunt.

THIS year, thats when we saw most of the bucks! You know the story, 20 mins of shooting light left, you get bored looking at all the close stuff so you turn the 15's to the farther hills, and BOOM! Buck! But not enough time to get there... bummer...
